Here's an interesting subject, what if you have a 2004MY Civilian Vic and wanted the ziptube and MM airbox. Would a 2004 CVPI computer work well with the MM airbox for they both have the 80mm MAF. Just saying.

only the 04 CVPI got the 80MM MAF. the civi models still had the 70MM MAF.

No. The 04+ CVPI MAF has a different air transfer function than the Marauder 80mm MAF.

Excellent write up... but a couple of question? What are the average HP and torque gains i can expect to see from installing and MZT over stock motor? Is there a direct correlation with an MZT and increased in MPG?

Thanks

What I read probably 15-20 hp at the wheels, torque I dunno. Mileage should be slightly better by 2-4 mpg since it's tuned.

Anyway, what's with the 2005+ resinated ziptube used in civilian models? Does it help with the engine flow?

The 05+ tube resonators is strictly to reduce engine intake tract noise.

05 retail models, at least the early ones, had a hydrocarbon filter in the tube as well.

So the 05+ civi ziptube doesn't improve the airflow much?

No, it's virtually the same as the 04 tube, just minus one vac line opening.

Well, the 05+ retail tube is straighter than the '96-'04 tubes (exc 04 CVPI) and is designed to work with a 80mm MAF outlet (even though stwock maf is still 70mm) It looks like the a combo of the 04 and 06 CVPI tubes, but with the large resonators. If you want a straighter tube, just use the 04 CVPI tube as it has no resonators, is less expensive, and has the IAC port still to use on -04s

Oh and one thing reguarding MM 80mm vs 04 PI's, Doesn't BOC carry MAF harnesses that could fit? If so I can get 04 PI airbox, ziptube and 04 P71 Computer...in case I get a 03-04MY.

Seems like this car will be harder to mod than my fox. What is a zip tube by the way?

No, you can't use an 04 PCM in your 03 unless you also use an 04 transmission! The planetary ring was revised changing the OSS output.
