Here is the 2000 GM we took in last Monday, the owner found a 03 Marauder engine with low miles and bought it, he had the engine shipped to us, it came in a first class shipping crate, complete engine with all the accessories and wiring harness.

So Steve and Edwin have already removed the old motor, it had 90 K on the clock and still ran well with no smoke, we are installing a 03 Marauder DOHC motor, in its place, so far I we will have to use his old oil pan, thats no problem, we are installing a PI 3000 stall converter, new Cobra exhaust, Dyno tech drive shaft, a new Ford posi with 410 gears.

I also have a PHP cold and will use a 90 MMLM with this, so Steve and Edwin are hard at it, I will post more pictures later on, if you look ate the Marauder wheels, you can see the spacers required to clear the front and rear calipers, but the car looks great and this will for sure make the car fun to drive, later on the owner will beef up the shocks and add Addco front and rear sway bars.

One problem was the oil pick up tube, we had to modify it to fit the GM pan

This project is going fairly smooth, one issue was the wiring harness, its far easier to use the 2V harness and EEC than convert it to the Marauder, another issue is fuel rails the Marauder is return less the 2000 GM is return, so there is no return style rail for the Marauder intake, I am trying to keep Tom's cost down, so I did not want to go with aftermarket rails, so we took a stock marauder rail cut the mounting tabs off of it, and welded them on a 96 Cobra rail and that worked fine, but because we need a fuel rail vacuum pressure sensor it is very close to the EGR tube, the Marauder incorporates the DPFE and EGR as one assembly the GM does not so I have to adapt the DPFE hoses to a Marauder EGR tube in order to run EGR and DPFE, all in all this has not been that bad,

Here is the new EGR tube that will work with Tom's EGR and DPFE

DONE the car runs great, it goes on the dyno in the morning Tom is at the airport on his way here, so the car has a Marauder 4V in place of the tired 2V along with this a new 410 posi rear end, Dyno tech drive shift, PI 3000 stall, Cobra manifolds, bassani exhaust, 90 MM LM.

I will post the dyno sheets later on, he does need to do something with the mufflers back, he is going from the 2.5" Bassani to a 1 3/4" inch inlet at the stock mufflers. But he is doing this in stages, and it will make a difference when he opens the exhaust up.

I would've at least cleaned the damn thing if I was going to have it worked on

Nice work as always Dennis Looks like she just squeezed in under that wiper cowl and brake booster
Any more details on the oil pan pickup modifications to use the -02 5qt pan?

Tom was here bright and early this morning, we got the car on the dyno and it made very good power the car has very restrictive exhaust and its still made 265 RWHP and 278 RWT, with a set of good exhaust, and UDP it should gain even more.

Very nice! Those HP numbers make me kick myself for sticking with the SOHC when I did my engine swap.

Do you forsee any issues with using the SOHC oil pan? This had been discussed before, and there was concern that the capacity was not high enough for the DOHC oil pump.

No I do not, the Marauder oil pump inlet is a larger diameter thatn the OEM GM, The Marauder is shown at the top

what I did is cut the tube off flush with the flange on the Marauder tube and we pressed it on right over the GM tube then we Tig welded it and it fit with slight tweaks in the OEM GM pan
we also removed the collar going around the tube shown on the OEM GM tube
