I picked up a 99 CVPI with 93k miles for $3k. All white, new cloth front seats, plastic-leather rear bench, typical cop car setup. Was a cruiser in Emporia, VA. I just sold a (wrecked) 03 Mach 1. So im not a stranger to motors, but Im curious how this 4.6 and the 5300# car respond to similar mods to GT/Mach stangs. Im also interested to know anything about anything for performance upgrades for the cvpi myself: I am 24, married, father of a four year old beautiful girl. I am currently a Corporal in the US Marines (Active), and a volunteer Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician-B

1st your car weights somewhere around 4000lbs, not 5300. and the 2v 4.6 is in the mustangs, check the 4.6 tech or high performance sections for mod ideas.

awesome year for a cvpi. theres really only one year better then a 99 and thats an 04. i mean yea an 08 would be badass but goodluck with that. there is a setup somewhere on here that will tell you what the codes for your door tag mean. if its a dk or something k in the door tag number and letter listing its 3.55 gearing with trak-lok i do believe. that should help u figure out what u gotz. wouldnt wanna change the 3.55 for a 3.55 gearing just cuz you didnt know you already had it.

Looks like you got a great deal on a great car - congrats! And welcome to CVN!! You can get the center caps new at your local Ford dealer or pick up a set on ebay or on here. I went to the Ford dealer and paid about $27 each for my two new ones - the used ones I had looked at had dings and scratches on them. You need the collared lug nuts for the center caps. These forums have everything you need in terms of advice on mods, etc. Have fun with your ride and thanks for posting up pics!!
