i apologize for any typo's, but i've been celebrating since i got home from work!

i just bought a 2003 300A from 'Darkside' from MM.net....which was originally owned by MM.net member Wags.

steve (Darkside) replaced it with a brand new LIQUID RED pontiac G8, of which i am pretty damn jealous...but i digress...

i bought a marquis in 2005 because i couldn't then afford a marauder. now that i'm in a different financial situation (not much better), i was able to buy a car i've lusted over ever since they "re"introduced it.

so far, the plan is to keep the MGM around for a daily driver and run the marauder in the summer/dry winter days. we'll see what happens over the next few years.

anyway, here are the specifics:
2003 marauder 300A
87### miles
#504 of 7839 for 2003
reinhart chip (no idea what sorta benefit i'm getting yet from this)
blacked out taillights
WAY darker-than-legal tint
came with blizzaks/winter wheels in addition to the OEM stuff...i'm selling the winter wheels/caps to a fellow MM.net'r/CVN'er - "Trash"....

$8000 for the whole package
(still can't believe it)

Awesome! Ask the owner what he used to get the tail lights like that. It looks amazing! What's the emblem on the right?

+1 to everyone who said it was a steal: probably the best deal i've heard of on a marauder besides the 'magindat' (pronounced "maj-in-dat" aka "imagine that") marauder on MM.net - trilogy for $11000? jeez. if you like custom paint, that's the car for you...someone buy it!

i'll try to make it out there this year...what about a winter cruise if we get some nice weather (+40/no snow)?

no need to ask, i already know \:D VHT niteshade.

badge #45, a tribute to fallen twinsburg police officer joshua miktarian, who was shot/killed while on a traffic stop with a piece of ghetto trash. there are a few marauders and P71s in the area with these badges on them, and i wanted one for my MGM. when i bought this, i was glad to see that steve left it on.

i never met josh, but his death struck a whole lot of clevelanders, especially those of us involved with public safety.

i had a long diatribe written out here about what the badge meant to me, but it sounded really ghey. instead, i'll just say that it's staying on there as long as i own the car.

congrats on the great deal, the car looks great all blacked out. I looked around for marauders locally they were nowhere near that cheap. I had not looked on any forums though....

I also went with a GMQ because it was much more affordable and easy to find....but I suppose the money saved will eventually find its way towards upgrades anyways...this suspension is too soft

Now get rid of that reinhart tune, before your motor ceases up and your transmission kills itself

Do you have to tell EVERYONE to go to Kentucky?

maybe YOU should come to new jersey for the annual random small CVN meet at a location?

FIXED IT FOR YA. srsly, definite improvement in the performance of the car vs. stock, trans shifts fine and motor runs fine. no evidence of burnt fluids. i know people have been [censored] about DR lately, but this is an "early build" DR chip so maybe uhhh, it's better? i don't know. i change fluids on the way-early side and have a pretty good ear when it comes to things not being right with cars. i don't think it'll be a problem. if i'm wrong, you can rub it in my face.

A DR tune is better than a Lidio tune (I've had both) but a Zack tune beats them both.

When New Jersey, Marauderville, or any other meet can top the attendance numbers of the Kentucky meet, then I'll consider attending them.

for those of you who don't know, i am a police/fire dispatcher for 12 police and 9 fire departments.

following the night of his murder, i thought about josh's death from a dispatch point of view. that's always been my biggest fear (even before this summer) - to lose someone in the line of duty. it's not like the twinsburg dispatcher did anything wrong (actually, i think she did quite well in the circumstances), but there are "other" dispatchers all over the country who just seem to be collecting a paycheck and could care less.

with that said, what i was trying to say about the "45" badge on the car:

to me, i hope that the badge will serve as a reminder. a reminder that no matter how bad a day i'm having or how much officer so-n-so upset me, that we're all on the same team and it's important that i do the best job i can; i need to keep my officers/firefighters/medics safe. that means going the extra mile at work, doing more legwork than the policy/procedure manual says i "have" to do. it means not letting the idiot caller on the other end of the phone get me riled to the point that i half-ass the officer who's calling out a suspicious person on the radio.

i'm great friends with a lot of the people i work with, but even the ones i'm NOT close to, i still care a great deal about. i don't want to lose any of my teammates.

that's what #45 means to me, that's why it will stay on my car.

the DR tune is disgusting and the man has no idea what he's doing!

have you seen the Gt500 he just tuned? The A/F was at 17.1! WTF!?

Zack and DR both base their tunes off of the SCT tune, lidio actually made his.

The only time I went to the Milwaukee Auto Show was in '03. My friends had to pry me out of the blue Marauder they had on display. I still kinda want one.

I've always wanted a Marauder. There was a window a few years back when they were getting cheap (relatively speaking), but now their value seems to be going up and up. I was looking for one last year before I got my current 03 CV, when I was looking to get back into a panther, but I couldn't find one that wasn't run into the ground for less than 8k. It seems like any that you find now are pristine or someone had it and didn't quite realize what they had, and treated it like any other used P71 or Grand Marquis. I've even seen one for sale with a push bar and steelies on it. grrr

Congrats on still having yours though! How has your Marauder held up since you've had it? Condition, mechanical, etc..?

Thanks!

The car is physically in the same condition (about) as when I bought it. I did have the hood, header panel, and roof all repainted since Ford was incapable of painting black cars. Since I don't drive it in the winter, so it's pretty clean underneath. Interior is nice aside from the little hole in the driver's seat that all Marauders get if a fat guy owns them. laugh

Mechanically, it's also been very good. I did have to do a top end in 2012 when I lost compression on cylinder #5, which sucked. But I did that one in the driveway and it is still running almost 40k miles and several years later. The car did give me two roadside headaches...2011, the rear air suspension crapped out on me in Erie, PA while I was going to the STAP meet (easy fix). And then on HRPT this year, the big brake upgrade was doing flawlessly until one of the caliper bolts came loose and caused a weird braking noise. Again, easy fix. Other than that, just normal Panther stuff - LCM, BDA, and EATC.

All of the mods have held up real nice, too.

Cool. I keep my junk long term too smile
Not driving things in winter makes it all that much more enjoyable to get to drive them again in the spring. Almost like driving a whole new car again.

Really cool to see you've kept it all this time! I've been put of the panther world since seeing my Marquis, but recently picked up a dark blue pearl marauder with 53k miles. Back at it again

Just had my 11th anniversary with this car. It celebrated by not being driven in Ohio winters.

Replaced the trans filter and did a 5.5qt swap of fluid. Magnet looked pretty good for having 35k on the fluid...oops. laugh

Me. The Marauder is faster from a roll.

4v FTW? I mean, from a dig I'm sure the Mustang would probably take the Marauder, but once the Marauder is rolling the 4v can wind up and start to shine. You know, once its in its power band cuz the 4v has little low-end power and the Marauder is heavy.

Yeah. The Mustang is faster in a quarter mile, but I’m gaining pretty good at the trap.

gts used to run mid to low 14's so the marauder is still up to the task.
Glad to see the car all nice and shinny laugh

Yeah, she cleans up alright.

I drove it to work tonight. The Jescar sealant really is great.

I want to try it again on the Zack tune. It's way different than the Marty tune, and I'm not sure which one is faster, quite honestly. Since the dragstrips are closed, racing dad might be my best metric.

I'd say it will handle drool. Today, a passing bird dropped a big bomb on it this morning sometime after I pulled it out of the garage. I didn't notice until a few hours later when I left for work, by which point it had dried in the sun. I used a bit of spray detailer and it wiped off in one single pass.

I swear those flying rats tailor their diet to the car they're going to crap on. The dark gray Challenger only collects white poop, and the Vic get all the lumpy brown stuff. Except on the roof, where they drop the white stuff. Little bastards.
