A buddy of mine is driving a 99 CVPI. It has no owners manual and the horn is dead. He said that the whole wiring harness is a bowl of spaghetti. I guess the PD did a chop job removing equipment.

Can anyone get me a wiring diagram for the horn and/or steering column? Also if anyone has an owners manual scanned that I can get a copy of it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The horn is mounted on the back of the bumper on the driver's side. Often the PD will use the horn to trigger the siren. Check the wiring leading to the horn for clipped wires.

It is also not unusual for the horn to fail but there are millions of them at the junkyard.

He was an automecahnic for 10 years, He has done all of the basics like this. What I am looking for is a diagram to know which wire in the steering column bundle is the horn to save time on the wire trace. I am assuming that it is the fuse, Relay or a cut and spliced wire asstated above. I assume the Fuse and relay are the same as my 98 M75 (engine bay block Fuse 5 and Relay 2) Please correct me if I am wrong on this.

Thanks

Normally the siren boxes are ran to the horn so that when the siren box is "on" pushing the horn button will either result in a siren tone or an air horn.

When the siren box is "off" the horn will still function as normal...

So basically they could have got alot of wiring screwed up in the hasty process of removing equipment!
