Okay still getting 10mpg city but i now get 25mpg highway,
replaced
cats,
oxygen sensors
fuel filter
fuel injectors
fuel regulators
fuel rail
spark plugs
coil packs
air filter
oil+filter
IAC valve

anyone got any ideas left?

also would it be cheaper to just buy a 2009 CVLX and mod on the PI package(fix the gas issue)
or take my 2001 strip it down to the frame and rebuild it?

PS is it possible the lack of city mileage could be do to a computer flash by the Ohio patrol to max out highway mileage and cause loss of city mileage, if that is possible i could just flash it back to normal and that should fix it.

flush the coolant system, check the thermostat, flush the axle with 75w140.

what engine oil are you using?

how much outside temp? do you turn the A/C?

are you drive it in a heavy traffics? (1-2) gears only?

Run in a bout 3-4 gear most the time,
Engine coolant is still good,
temp outside is around 80F
5-20W Synthetic high mileage
doesn't seem to matter with or without A/C still gets the same

My car dropped around town too, i think it is just ridiculously hot outside 105+ where I am that the car is just straining. It runs way better at night.

so back to original question, would it be cheaper to buy a new CVLX and mod it with a CVPI package or tear my 01 down to the frame and rebuild it. and could this maybe the cause of a computer flash

You could try a different ECM for a cheap maybe fix but CVPIs for the most part are not geared for fuel mileage in the city.Going to a 373 gear will allow the unit to move easier and should help with your city fuel mileage but hurt your highway.Your problem I thought is spending money on low fuel mileage so buying a new car and modding it is not going to save you money.Drive what you have for a year and get your moneys worth out of it.

[censored], I get I think 12mpg in the city. I've just come to
expect crappy mileage on a crappy car. And by crappy I mean
NO REAL UPDATES IN 11 YEARS, crappy. PI who cares, new frame
and suspension, who cares, if you want better mileage buy
something with 4 cylinders and a foreign emblem.
Ford [censored] us up the a**, dry!
Just get used to the bad mileage.
