I went to my local u-pull-it yard and they are starting to get in the cash for clunkers cars. Well this 91 GM is MINT! It has 31k miles on it and some older person owned it. I can honestly tell you that this car looked just like it came off the showroom floor. I even bet the door seals are good.

People suck.

Are they gonna crush that thing and do that one thing where they put liquid glass in the engine so no one can ever enjoy it again? God, don't tell me thats the case. Say it ain't so. I think it's our duty as crownvic.net members to bust that [email protected]#$ out and save it. Where is this vehicle located!?

Actually, only the drivetrain has to be destroyed as far as I understand it... so I guess the dealer could save the rest of the car if they want to... but it's still a shame.

So why cant they try and give cars like this to people that may need them? People who are loosing their houses and cars! Thats like going to a Steak house buying a 30 or 40 dollar steak, not finishing it and throwing it out! This has to be the most wasteful idea ever!

Only for parts, the car is marked to never be licensed or insured again...

Do the transmissions get destroyed as well or is it just the engines?

The engines get toast, they drain the oil, pour in something and then run the car till it dies. If it starts again, they repeat till it won't start no more.

88-91 Boxes were ugly cars anyway. Nothing of value was lost.
