Hello all!

I have a 1992 ford crownvictoria LX with about 90,000 miles on it and recently my odometer and trip meter stopped working. My speedo still works so i know it is the little gears behind the cluster....

my question is sinc i have to pull it out and buying a new cluster is almost the same as the gears, what would I have to change/replace/convert to make the new p71 140 MPH speedo read correctly... I know this can be done because I have seen it, Im just not sure what has to be adjusted to give me the right reading... if anyone can tell me what I need to do to make a higher rated MPH cluster work in my dash i would greatly appreciate it... Thanks in advance!

-Chris

Nothing will have to be adjusted as the speedo heads all use the same pulse per mile input - it will read accurately. However, to avoid modification you must use one from a 1992-1994 model (analog only)

Also, keep in mind the shift pattern label on the speedometer face is unique for those with the AOD transmission (early '92), however this means nothing (your transmission will shift exactly the same before and the gear positions will be unchanged)
