Have to say, while not "sports cars", after driving my Marquis those are pretty impressive videos. Particularly for cars that weigh almost 2 tons and were not really built with ultimate performance in mind.
With only about $150 to play with (chumpcar/24hoursoflemons), I'm probably not going to get close to that. HPP/police sway bars and some new bushings will probably be about it.
Already upgraded to HPP bars, and managed to find a full set of Gabriel Ultras (police up front) brand new for $50 from Rockauto. Hopefully this will make a difference, and I'll adjust from there.
Now, if I could only find a 3.55 w/tracloc in a junkyard, I'd be in good shape.

Hey bondfreak, looks like those extra heavy bars weren't too much after all. Looks like the handling was vastly improved! How is it on the street?
Good video, too bad the announcer commenting on your car was cut off short at the end.
I have been working on my house too much to even find time to install mine. Can you believe that!?

...as for the announcer, what he said was " That is quite a challage getting that boat around the course. it isn't easy, my hats off to him for making it look easy to drive a two ton car like a Miata"
Get Yer Arse and get those bars installed.
LOL on both comments! Anyone have a garage that I could borrow for a few hours?

I know, I know, two or more years is way too long, but I FINALLY installed my Big Azz Bars!
I recently had installed 850 lb/in front springs with a 1" drop from Coilsprings.com. I thought that I could have gone to somewhat stiffer while using my stock HPP front & rear sway bars. So I was a little disappointed.
Now that the big bars are on, I got just the ride/handling that I was looking to achieve. Vastly improved!!! I didn't even get on much due to rain, but can notice the improvement. The changes weren't even too much for my wife. So all are happy.

...Unlikely, but hopefully I plan to install some rear coils with a rate around 250# (CVPI's have 160#) and still don't fear an unbalanced car. I predict the contrary actually... What rear spring is rated as 250lbs?

I am not sure why Ford didn't put anti-sway bars on ALL base model/civilian Grand Marquiss and Crown Victorias from the factory. The ones with the ultra soft suspension and no rear anti-sway bar are just downright dangerous in my opinion.

Since I almost bought a new 1996 Impala SS, I insisted on driving the best handling Panther made. It was the HPP that was so much better than the base model that a relative had bought. I wouldn't have bought one if the HPP didn't exist.

Ford really should have put rear sway bars on all of these cars, I know that when my end link popped on my stock rear bar, the car handled like crap and I noticed it immediately. The only thing I can figure is that it was a cost cutting measure proposed by some bean counter somewhere in FoMoCo, that was allowed to happen because of the target demographic for these cars. I mean have you ever seen an old person corner at more than 3mph?? Upgrading from the 17mm stock sway bar to the 21mm HPP sway bar made a huge difference as well.

I am not too familiar with the 03+ non-P71s, but do they get rear-anti swaybars after that time? For some reason I was thinking that it was only up until 2002 that they did not receive a rear anti-sway bar as standard. I could be wrong.

I know nothing about the Vic when it comes to suspension and handling. What do you recommend for an 01 P73..assuming no back sway bar at all?...is it easy to add one? If so, would you go with a 21mm right off the bat or does that require an upgrade to the front also?

Well, the perfect combination would be a P71 front and rear anti-sway bar coupled with P71 shocks and P71 springs. For the pre-03 cars, the Police suspension isn't jarring, it is really comfortable yet performance oriented.
03+ P71's are a night and day difference, MUCH stiffer and more stable, much less body roll as well. 2006-2011 P71s are even more stiff with the addition of steel front LCAs and even stiffer front springs. My friend's 2006 P71 is the best car I've been in, even over other 2005 P71s I've been in. You can really tell the difference, even between the two years.
