My power seat just stopped moving in the "de-recline" direction. I have the wiring diagram and I hope to look at it this weekend. I just want comments on the problem from anyone that had problems with power seats in the past. What was the failure cause, switch, wiring, connectors, or motor. Anything I forgot? I hope I just need to clean the switch or something like that.

This is a problem. I tapped the recline a couple of times while testing it and leaned it back just a little. I really prefer to drive more, er, erect.

If you don't hear the motor which I assume works both ways then I would look at the switch.

Got a 12v test light to see if current it getting to the motor ?

I've never invested the big bucks in a real test light :-) I usually cobble together stupid gator clips and a bulb I have lying around. I do have a good collection of multimeters, go figure.

It goes back , but not up so I am thinking the switch, but it could be wires or connectors.

If it is working in the recline up position or you are at the stop and can hear the motor 'thud', I'm sure the problem is the switch itself (as the voltage is simply reversed to reverse the movement, so the motor and wiring are fine)

You can apply 12v across the recline motor wiring at the inline switch connector behind door panel to test motor operation or just to get the seat back to a normal position for now.
