I've got a 15 or 20A inline fuse (been awhile, I'm not checking) on my power line to the relay for the trunk, and I tapped into 12v+ on the steering column.

Blowing a 30A fuse seems nuts, relay wired right?

I have a Viper Security/Remote Start for my car...the Security part has never given me a single problem, but the remote start has never functioned since I bought the car from the previous owner. When I initialize the Remote Start mode, the dash lights flash on and off, then the fuel pump turns on.....but theres something inhibiting the starter circuit. Anybody have any ideas what might be the matter? I'd love to have this functioning for this winter, and I don't wanna give it to a car audio place to fiddle with cause I don't really have the money for that. Suggestions would be very welcome. It appears I have the Viper 5900 model.

Start a new thread guy... let's solve my trunk release problem in my thread for now:) I'll help you out in a separate thread about ignition wiring.

Any thoughts on how much current the solenoid SHOULD be taking?

Whomever installed the system may not have bypassed the PATS, which would cause your remote start to 'not start'.

Is there any update on this, Stu? I'd really like to get a Viper 9002 in my '00 CVPI, just want to know what I'm ready to encounter during my install.
