Well I ran out of masking tape for a painting project I wanted to do on my doors. When I ran across a roll of Metal Foil Tape in my cabinet. I applied it to the dash and doors then used steel wool to reduce the gloss. I added decals, but after looking at it and fielding opinions I removed the decals from the doors and only left it on the dash piece. I'm fairly happy with the result.

I only did the top portion of the dash center insert, but the pic looks weird here (iPhone)

Didn't get updated pics of the plain doors( removed the interceptor decals and the panther) so now it's plain siver.
Oh I almost forgot I also did the HVAC controls white and modded it to light up blue instead of green to match my speedo mod.

Diggin' it. Might have to try that. How do you think it would hold up to a spray-down cleaning?

It's metal so it holds up good. I cleaned it with armor all after removing the door decals and it didn't effect it. I used a fat round marker to smooth out all the areas that wanted to bubble up around corners.(rolled it across the areas to level it off) just so if you try it and get the problem you know what to do. The only thing I wish is I had some wider tape for the doors. I can see the seam abit because I had to use two strips.

That looks pretty damn good.
It goes real well with the chrome surround on the shifter, the only thing I would personally change is around the clock.

Yeah that was kind of bothering me. I made the cutout and it's not perfectly level, the JB wield I used to cut the new holes didn't set well. I'm thinking of fabbing a cover plate maybe in flat black

Looks nice.
Question: How hard was it to update to the newer steering wheel/column?

On the doors I had to use 2 pieces. on the crown vic dash it was wide enough. I am working on an MG one right now and it's taking 2 pieces. I didn't run out and buy it, had it lying around the garage. I might go out and pick up a roll that's wider and see if the result is better. That's the beauty of this stuff if your not happy with it just peel it back off.
