A track Lok is one thing I want to get soon. Spinning one wheel is not fun.

Fastest pass to date (left lane). I was the loser. I ran up against a Hell Cat.

Finally got back to the track for a new baseline number with the gears.Still had about 200lbs extra in the back including a full tank of gas, just like last time when she was all stock, but their scales were down tonight

About 1/2 sec and over 2 mph improvement over stock time

With the density altitude correction,it comes to a 14.5 @ 95

Only change was switching from 3.27 to 4.56 gears,93 oct canned tune,j-mod,and trick flow plenum,oh and almost forgot, went from the 16" cop wheels to 17" bullits

I didn't do any burnouts because it was hooking pretty well off the line, but it not only spun, but wheelhopped a little, going into second every time

Just like last time, oddly my first run when it was hot was the best.I let it cool for 1-1 1/2 hours with the hood open between each run, expecting to break into the 14's,but each run was slightly slower

I really want to get my '98 to the track. I'm seriously just curious if its faster or slower than my Town Car. By this point it has almost all of the same modifications that would matter for that, plus it has a PI intake swap and 3.27 instead of the Townies 3.08. Its been a minute, but IIRC the townie ran a 16.03 @ 87mph back when it could still pass a basic inspection to be on a track. Traction is a major issue, I already know that, the Townie could hook up if I tried and the '98 just...won't. Needs a trac lock. Got a guy looking for one. The time I have in that list above was my '96, it had dual exhaust and that was pretty much it IIRC.

That is a nice improvement over the 3.27's.

If the car ran best hot, it's trying to tell you something. Waiting 1 1/2 hrs is not only tedious, it is hard on the trans to run it cold.

Going from 16's to 17's did not help 60' times, or wheelhop. Letting some air out of the rear tires will help with wheelhop, maybe 26-28 psi.

Drag radials and a nice converter would really help the short times. 4.56 is a lot of gear for street tires.

Bigmerc96,I bet she'll hook at the track.Mine did with the 3.27's and open diff.Track surface is nice and sticky compared to street.

Alleyg, trans fluid was still good and warm after the long cool downs, according to the good ol' Torque app.Don't recall what the temp was,but I did check it right before I got back in line to run again because I was a little concerned about that

Somehow lowering the air in the tires didn't even occur to me this time out.I had them set at 38 cold before I headed to the track,so that probably would've made a difference

I always make my first run with no burnout,to judge how she'll hook.If it hooks pretty good,I don't bother wasting expensive tire tread with a burnout.I always avoid the water as much as possible too, whether I'll be doing a burnout or not,but they were going crazy with the water hose right before letting me pull up,every time

I think short times were about 6 100's better, compared to stock.Didn't feel any wheelspin on the launch though, only when hitting second
