Here's day one of the header install on our '04 PI shop car Casper. Removed the stock exhaust (cut off the rear piping at the backside of the muffler) and removed the cats and O2 sensors. On the manifolds I started first with spraying the hell out of all the bolts with PB blaster and let it sit. I removed all the nuts, removed the steering shaft and EGR on the driver's side, removed the starter, dropped the a/c compressor a little for clearance and the manifolds came right out. I removed all the exhaust studs as I'm using the Stage 8 locking header bolts, cleaned out the threads with a tap, and put the SCE gasket in with the four bottom bolts and laid the headers in on top. Put all the bolts in on the top and tightened it all up. Of course the better part of the day was spent drilling out a broken stud that was in the head when I bought the car. That probably took about an hour or two by the time it was all done.

Pic highlights are as follows:

More to follow tomorrow! Totally would have finished it today but I have to go to a b-day party tonight. Lame... Tomorrow I'll finish up securing the O2 wiring, tighten down the A/C compressor, put the belt back on, fire it up with open headers (come on, you gotta...) and then install the rest of the Stainless Works catted lead pipes and Stainless Works cat back system! Stay tuned!!!

Stock mufflers are already gone to the big scrap heap in the sky!

I finished up the cat back system last night. I remember why I never get anything finished on my personal cars LOL! I let it idle for a while and took it for a quick spin around the block. So far I am happy with the system and the sound. Definitely deep at an idle and screams at WOT. Like I mentioned I haven't had a chance to drive it much but tonight I'll get some more seat time and post up some pictures/videos.
