They do help keep the intake clean. I installed a Steeda 555-3710 on mine.

Any noticable difference in driveability? Or is this just for the inside of the throttle body etc?

Not sure on the 2V but on the 4V engine, a catch can catches a lot more oil then you would think. Some guys have to clean them out at every oil change because its pretty much full. I have personally seen the inside of intake manifolds without a catch can and its not pretty. Its caked with a dark brown residue from the oil splashed around inside and then heated up. I pulled my intake off after a few thousand miles and saw a thick coating of oil on the bottom of the manifold.
Either way it won't hurt anything, but I like the idea that Im not pulling in oil vapor when Im driving around.

You install them after the PCV valve and before the intake in the rubber line. I've run them on my 5.4L for easily 6-7 years catches a lot of oil. You can use simple water separators made for an air compressor if need be, that is what I have used with no problems. Not sure on every modular but on 5.4L's you only have a PCV on the P. side and the D. side just has a baffle in the valve cover a catch can in both lines yields results.

I just installed the ebay catch can.

Catch Can

It seems decent, but the holes inside the right angle fitting need to be enlarged and cleaned up. They are so small they caused my pcv valve to rattle, and they caused a whistling noise. i enlarged the holes to 5/16, and it fixed both problems.

Sure thing.

Just don't make fun of the hoses, lol, they came with the can, and I didn't realize I didn't have any real hose on hand until I started putting the catch can in.
