OK so let’s get this party started….

It first begins on Tuesday afternoon armed with plenty of copies of my new Ford emblem stickers



And my freshly painted Mini Tricky Vicky



We are ready to start packing my car.
I was stopping by Rizzo’s first on the way to Canada.
So I left earlier than Nomad (he had to work and wasn’t joining me until Thursday night at Rizzo’s)



It was roughly about a 5 hour drive to Romulus (give and take some extra minutes)
So after flying by the Welcome to Michigan sign on the expressway, I was happy to be able to pull over and take this picture.



I finally arrived at Rizzo’s around 3:30am (I took the scenic route and turned into the airport and was lost for a minute)
Poor Doreen she had to work the next morning but she had stayed up waiting for me to finally arrive.



On Thursday afternoon I finally got to meet my friends Cody and Thomas!
They came to see me and decided to wait with me for Jeremy to get there so we could all convoy together.
Then Nadroj( Jordan) a fairly new CVN member came by to drop off some corn for RZPLA.
He had drove straight from Nebraska that day) so we convinced him to convoy with us as well.

Jeremy had arrived,coming straight from work and we all had some Hungry Howies pizza (yum)
Once April showed up, we have a 4 car convoy and we are ready to roll out
unfortunately it was so late and so foggy I do not have any convoy pics.
..but I did have fun with the FRS radio talking to everyone.
we were the lead car and I was giving GPS info like "30 miles to next exit"
So here we are arriving at the border around midnight

I will go ahead and apologize now for my new fancy HD camera that takes crappy night pictures,
as you will see what I mean later on too in this thread.


Please pull over to the right so we can go thru all of your stuff and question you to death

And I mean they went thru my stuff.
keep in mind my trunk is LOADED down with clothes and they kept asking me "and you are only staying in Canada for 2 days"
I was saying yes, but I have been traveling since Tuesday and I am a girl and I always over pack
so then we had to go into this building:


So at this point I am totally freaking out,
I have never been thru customs or out of the country before
I have heard some of the horror stories..
and Jeremy is only adding to my stress by whispering to me as we are going in the door..
"This is where they are going to search you"


WAIT WHAT????

From all these threads, I haven't seen a picture of this yet:

Well where is that Romulus sign? I never saw it.

Its right beside the Airport. That picture was taken from the parking lot of whatever random hotel is right beside the Airport when I was in Romulus last year (on completely non-STAP related business).

Well that is a cool sign...the only thing I saw at the airport at 3am was the do not enter authorized employees only parking lot at Delta where I turned around in..with th employees looking at me crazy...lol

Nope never saw it. First time there I came straight off of 275 onto Ecorse from the west, and second time there I came straight off of 94 onto Ecorse from the east. We went over towards Telegraph to go to the car show, so I've never actually driven directly past the airport.

I've been down there a number of times and I've never seen that sign.

We were looking for it, because me and girl I was with are sorta Star Trek nerds.. Haven't been to a convention yet though.. One of these days I'm going to go to laugh at people and have fun.

I always think of Star Trek whenever I see this^

Haha, yeah, we were looking for it, we found it, and I took that picture to prove it.

I don't recall you walking funny, so they must have been gentle with ya, being your first time across and all. =-)
