So the local Ford dealer parts guy says I can't get an OEM locking cap for my 2011. Anyone here have any suggestions? I would think an older model vic locking cap should fit, right?

I thought 2011 did not have caps. Why do you need one?

It has a standard cap but in yellow for E85. I guess I really don't need one but just paranoid that someone will dump something in or siphon out fuel when I'm in the city, etc.

funny. Pretty near impossible to siphon gas out of cars through the gas cap anymore. They put that double bend in it for a reason. They are just drilling a hole in the tank now around here. stop pissing people off and they wont piss in your tank. Flexfuel vehicles might run on that though. If you need one I am sure Stant makes it. Only vehicle I ever had a locking cap for were Jeeps.

I got a locking one at PepBoys for my car when I needed a new cap due to a bad seal and corresponding code.

They have that cap-less seal thing on the 11's (EasyFuel).
Here is the locking cap for it:

I bought a locking gas cap from Wallyworld back in 2005 and it has not broken yet.

That may be true for the older year cars, but with the 2011s, with the capless system, they need a special one so the capless system is not damaged. Heck my dad's 2011 f150 even came with a little funnel that if by chance you run out of gas, you stick in the hole, then pour the gas in. The manual and the diagrams say that failure to do so will damage the system and void the warranty.

It's a good idea, the capless system, but I want to see how it lasts over time. I'm interested in seeing real world results after 3-5 years of use.
