Recently I have decided to get one of those Maaco $499 paint jobs but i have a lot of body work to do before i get the car painted.

I started with a dent that was on the driverside passenger door and behind it extending back to the filler lid. I sanded the entire area down to bare metal and hammer out the dents the best i could. then applyed multiple layers of bondo.

This is the area in primer

I had to take the bumper cover off so not to damage it while fixing the fender

While the bumper cover was off i removed the chrome strip off of it cleaned it up and repaired a crack in the bumper and a few deep scratches. I used a flexible bumper epoxy to repair the cracks and the scratches after sanding the paint off

I will be replacing the chrome strips on the bumper after the car is painted

Maaco paint jobs can be pretty good if you do your own prep work. You seem to be all over that. I wish I knew that before I had them do my Cadillac. I would have pulled off everything that isn't painted or taped off what couldn't be taken off.

I have hammered the dent out the best i can so the next step is bondo. I was thinking of replacing this fender but there is no rust on it at all so i am going to try and fix it.

This isn't complete! I think I need to do a little more bondo but I have run out of time today and it is going to rain. I hit it with some primer so it won't rust until i can get back to it.

Quickster, You're doing what I did.

By the time I finished scratches, dings, cop holes and door holes, I had a car half painted with primer. laugh
