I have plenty of project and work to do on other crown vic before I start anything on the 04.

That being said I have to see with john his availability to go pick up the header sometime in febuary.
I alredy got some quote from an exhaust shop regarding a cat back as I'm far from being satisfied abouth the one I have.
I have a full intact exhaust system off my 98 so I will bring them and they will be able to make a copy of it in 2.5 ss mandrel bent with the recent dynomax ultra flo VT.
Unlike the other system that was larger at the x-pipe to accomodate the 5.4 the new system will has the same size as the stock system and then the mid section will do the link betewen the header and the cat back.
I'm getting everything planned ahead of time but will not start anything before march.
Once the car is in the garage it,s there for good so that means that all my work has to be done by then.

speakimg of header...

Not that i'm really concerned abouth any warranty but there must be a reason why it does void the warranty when you wrap the header.

I, mlloking at either wrap the header once that are set or getting them ceramic coated if i can find a place that dose that for a good price.

These headers are not easy to wrap. I spent about 2+ hours per side, not including remove and install time.

You got that right.

I figure wrap voids the warranty because keeping the heat in can put more stress on the welds and whatnot. Also noticed that the wrap sucks up water so it could promote rust (I know, stainless. But still.)

I contacted Stainless workd today and they will be sending me pics of the 98 header and the 03 header so I can see the difference in betewen them.

They can also send me the header without the flanges alredy installed and with some extra lenght of tube so i can work something out

smile

Heres some news

As discussed with John I will no longer buy his longtube header because stainless works is capable of making a set per my requirements.

I got in toutch recently with Jason at stainlessworks and send him my special order request.

I'm basicaly asking him to send me a set of header without ,flanges egr tube and o2 bungs as the shop will take care of that.
He will get back to me tomorow regarding this request but so far we are talking abouth of a month turn around.

I'm not in a hurry at all as I have another 5 speed swap to do and instalation of header on another car laugh
lots of project on the table guys laugh
