A-Pillar Spots

I live in Michigan and will be spending some time in the Windsor, Lakeshore, Essex, Belle River areas. My car has dual spots. Should I take them off my car before traveling to Canada or will I be okay? I've done some digging, here and on the net, regarding the legalities of these on cars in Ontario, but I can't find much. I don't want to be bothered or hassled.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They aren't illegal in Ontario. same in quebec but cops just dont like it and will pull you over to tell you that they are illegal Wich is not the case. they will just lie to you because no police cars has them in quebec

Just wanted to reiterate on this. You can have only one spot light in Ontario. Spotlamps
(22) No motor vehicle, other than a public utility emergency vehicle, shall be equipped with more than one spotlamp and every lighted spotlamp shall be so directed, upon approaching or upon the approach of another vehicle, that no part of the high intensity portion of the beam from the lamp will be directed to the left of the prolongation of the extreme left side, nor more than thirty metres ahead, of the vehicle to which it is attached. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 62 (22). Wow. Thanks for going the extra mile and posting that. I like factual information and it doesn't get more factual than that! Wouldn't want to cause an international incident. lol

They aren't illegal in Ontario. same in quebec but cops just dont like it and will pull you over to tell you that they are illegal Wich is not the case. they will just lie to you because no police cars has them in quebec Actually saw the first ever spotlight on a patrol car in Quebec (besides RCMP). whatever police force patrols beloeil area seems to do alot of revenue generation, they had really nice new CVPIs with LED lights, reflective decals and the full antenna array...and dual spotlights. Atfirst I thought it was an American police car lost! Was suprised to see such a "nice" CVPI in Quebec.

I'm suprised SQ doesnt have them. I wouldin't want to make traffic stops on dark highways without them to illuminate the passengers.

Except I think spotlights have been around for ALOT longer than LEDs...I'm sure they've had spotlights since the 50ies for cop cars. I am sure it is because they are afraid someone will sue them saying they aren't road legal or something.
One thing for sure is that they will give you a hard time if you have them and even more if they are on for what ever reason..tey will take a look at the csr and say you will get the ticket in the mail..wich you will never do because there arent any laws abouth this

FYI spotlights have been around for a LONG time. My first car was 1946 Oldsmobile 76 2 door. I bought it in 1953 from the Chevy dealer I had started working for . It had a spotlight on the "A" pillar. Real handy for picking on "neckers" in the mountains. Traded it for a 1951 Studebaker 4 door with V/8.

Very happy with the MKS. Finally got used to all the bells & whistles. Better handling, good MPG (25-27 highway) Better stopping distance & much faster acceleration.
