Well it's finally started... I have wanted to bag my car since I've owned it. These cars look amazing nearly on the frame rails. I regret I have not posted many pictures along the build as i was too busy doing the work. Im getting close though. See the images below for progress. I was not able to find very much info for air ride on these cars so I've had to figure out everything on my own.

Went with factory rear bags I scored from the wreckers. Had some aluminum adapters spun up to replace the solenoids so i could put a 3/8" NPT fitting in the bag to connect my 3/8" DOT air brake line.

Got front control arms from the wrecker as well to avoid hacking up my parts.

Used some very unconventional valving, I'm a manufacturing engineer and so on the last equipment tear out we did I scored the Numatics valve bank and 4 PO checks, biggest problem with this set up is these industrial valves inherently leak past the spool. A valve between my tank and manifold fixed the tank draining issue. I was going to scrap the idea of using this stuff but recently at a car show it received lots of attention, worth the hassle to be different I suppose. Additionally if there's no leak between the bag and the PO check it will hold ride height for ever. (held steady for three days until i had to move it)

Aired out in the back!

I am nearing completion on the front, ill post more pics when i have more time. Thanks for dropping by.

I just plated them. I'm not sure yet but i may up size the bags and pocket them. For now it just takes a bit more pressure than id like to get to speed bump crossing height. I am going to experiment tonight with some spacer under the bags to get more force from them.

Before welding plates in.

with bags and coil cups, all custom made of course.

You might look into these guys.
they have been doing it for a while.
i have considered them for a full air ride system.
unless ridetech offeres something for our cars.

AIRBAGIT.COM 98-2002

they might at least offer some parts you may need.

That's cool, i did not find that kit, although I did fins out airbagit.com sells knock off air bags, those are firestone lookalikes. They also have some Denominators not the be confused with Dominators. LOL. They are dirt cheap though, i thought it was worth it for the extra $30-$40 per bag to get genuine Firestone bags.

I did find a kit from Helix but they no longer made it.

If you can do some custom fab its really not that much work to make up the coil cups and LCA plates.

Gonna cut out my plates tonight, last night i made up templates for shock mounts. I've got to put them in front of the control arms, that means i'm going to have to get creative with my sway bar. More Pics will come as i get that figured out.

There is actually a hole in the LCA in front of the bump stop that is likely where the sway bars used to bolt (before the nice new sway bar links were introduced), i inverted the shock and dropped it in there, then removed the tabs at the other end and replaced with tubing to bolt to my upper mounts. Picture will show better than i can explain, stay tuned.

BTW, Shockwaves are too damn expensive but would definitely make life easier.

Wow, this is addictive. How will i get any work done?

Temporary switch box until i build my custom console. The gauge fell in on me.

With the front bump stop out... pushing it!

Water bottle squasher! (This is with the bump stops at full height.

It looks great.

Please tell me that you put new ball joints in those junkyard control arms. I'd hate to have one break after all that work on such a nice car.
