Tried to search... got nothing. I got no power to the spotlight and all the fuses are good.
However I have no clue which fuse supplies the power to the spotlight, there's nothing in the owners manual that's concrete.

What's the most likely fuse?

I need a place to start.

How do you have your spot connected?
does a wire run to the fuses?

I believe fuse number 20 was mentioned as being the spotlight fuse over in the other spotlight thread.

I didn't trace the wire, but the spot is connected however they connected it when it was installed back in the day.

I'll check #20 since there's not supposed to be anything there, and there's not. What amp fuse should I use though?

It could also be a burnt bulb too.

He said he doesn't have power at the spotlight, so I don't think that's an issue.

Fuse should be 20 amp.

If the light it self isn't working it might have just gone bad, I've had 2 go bad before, I hope it isn't but you never know. Also the side post plastic mounts are easy to take off and put back in, give that a try and see if you can find where the wire goes, I know there are 2 types of setups for those.

Not fuse 20. Put a 20A there and had power at the fuse, but still nothing at the wire that goes to the light before the switch.

I'm gonna go home, maybe I'll play with it later unless someone has a better suggestion.

Thanks for the help everyone!

Did you check every fuse in the fuse panel under the dash on the driver side? I looked up the 2001 owners manual online(fleet.ford.com) under maintance and the fuse panel was the same for 98-00 but changed in 01. I have the 2000 book in front of me and in the fuse list it says....
FUSE LOCATION 8 15 AMPS LCM, POWER MIRRORS, KEYLESS ENTRY, CLOCK MEMORY, EATC, POWER WINDOWS, POLICE SPOT LIGHT, SECURILOCK

Since it's grouped with other stuff on a 2000, is there any other things not working in your ride? it's possible the continued the grouping in 2001, but didn't list it.

Everything works... except the spot. I'm wondering maybe the wire was cut under the dash? The car had lights mounted on the mirrors and while the wires are there inside the doors, they were cut where the come out of the doors near the kick panels, so maybe they did the spot too?

Someday (when it's warm) I'll climb under there and have a look.

I checked out one of our cars at my job. It is a former ct state police 2001 cvpi. I used a test light on the female plug for the driver's side spotlight power wire. I found that when i removed fuse #23 (15 amp blue) in the panel under the dash that it shut off the current to the spotlight wire. Hope that can help you Benfolio. The owner's manual for the 2001 model year does not say which fuse it was but try #23 and see what happens.

Bringin' it back from the dead!!

I found the wire. It was cut and was just lying under the column. The cut end was near the OBD II data link connector, but there was no other end that it could have been cut from that I could see. I was assuming it would have been plugged into the back of the under dash fuse panel, but there are no wires cut there, nor is there a terminal just hanging out in the back of the fuse panel.

Should I just pick an empty fuse location and find a terminal, and plug it in there?

Hey i have similar problem. I took apart the back of the spot light where the switch is and it shorted out while I was trying to fix the switch but it. I took every fuse out of every fuse box and they are all fine. the spot lights worked before but now neither of them do...i have dual spotlights and I cant figure out why they dont work now. can anybody help me? i traced the wire it goes down to a huge wire harness and goes along the kick panel where you open the door at...and then i lose it.

you prob killed the switch inside were the out side switch makes contact its a chunk of plastic with wire coiled around it sounds like you fried em both best best is to remove handle and test spot light using a jump pack or something its how i narrowed it down i did the same thing and had to buy a new switch
