Also, if its a signature touring (looks to be), it is most likely Opal Pearl I think they called it. ChevyGuy/BillyBishop's '96 Touring was that color.

Nice town car man!! Looks to be in great shape. That QP damage is an easy fix. Repair and new headlight, you'll be good to go. You will most likely have to replace the sub if it has not been done already. the old original ones are crappy and deteriorate. I replaced mine with a new kicker even though now I am in the process of updating all my speakers, headunit, wires and subs.

Thanks!

She cleaned up really well.

I'm almost done gathering pieces for my tablet audio install. Question: The speaker wires all run to the factory amplifier, correct? This would make some things so much easier for my project.

Paint code is 'WK' Opalescent, axle is 'Z5' 3.27

yes. Its not so much an amplifier in the trunk (the part to the right of the spare) as the actual radio. The thing in the dash is just a control head and cassette player. All the speakers are wired into the radio in the trunk.

The part to the left of the spare is just an amp for the subwoofer.

That's crazy they write the car off for just that minor damage. I haven't seen many signatures with the pearl paint especially when it has the grey door bottoms. Usually the better paint is a Cartier thing.

That's right. I remember reading about it when I had to use a bypass kit on my pops' 97 TC to install an aftermarket HU.

It is crazy indeed, but I guess it's due to the year. The P.O. took pretty good care of the car... I think it's a 1-owner, according to Autocheck. Still has all the manuals, door code card, 2 key FOBS, 2 regular keys and a valet key. Oh, and a little Lincoln keychain that says if the keys are found to drop them into a mail box and postage will be paid lol

Nice buy! Push that dent out, add a little bondo, paint and a taillight, and that's as close to perfect as could expect for a car that age!

Good choice! Although I am surprised you made the move so fast especially that you know no history on the TC. Was the Sport giving you problems?

I asked $2400 and gave it away for $2200. It was a nice car, but it had 198k miles on it.

Ah, but I do know the history. It's a 1-owner California car and has under 90k miles... No problems I can tell whatsoever (other than the salvage title, and dent that caused said title)... I drove the car a couple miles today and it has more get up and go than the Vic did I think. Also the Vic just blew the heater hose nipple on the intake manifold which means I would have been in for a new intake mani. The one on the TC has already been replaced with a revised version. The Vic also needed paint, a rear bumper, alignment etc. and that's AFTER I just did both front hub assemblies, ball joints/ control arms and sway bar links. Oh, and new rear end.

I found the old owner's name on a Jiffy Lube coupon inside the car and found his number on the internets. He's in Los Angeles. I think I'm gonna call tomorrow and see what else I can find out about it.
