Saw it in car and driver and looked it up. Seems legit?

If it seems too good to be true...

Nothing in a bottle is going to rebuild worn engine metal and reverse wear, unless it's a huge bottle full of new parts, tools, and a mechanic. Even then, the mechanic will probably be pissed he got stuffed in a giant bottle and tell you to piss off.

If this stuff did half what they say it does with no serious side effects, it would be standard factory-recommended maintenance. States with inspections and emissions crap would probably require it if it actually "Decreases toxic carbon monoxide and dioxide emissions". Everyone would be using it in everything all the time.

You could just use that stuff with a supercharger instead of a built motor. Obviously it'll repair everything as the blower destroys it.

No, and I've never used Slick 50, or DuraLube, or Prolong, or ZMax, or Motor UP, or any other miracle-in-a-can either. There's a reason for that...

I had two cars I used to pour Restore in and later I had a Subaru that I was putting a quart of Lucas in at every oil change. Now I just wish I could have that money back. It's totally pointless.

Out of 20 cars, some with very high mileage, I've only had one engine failure. It was a Mazda B2200 pickup that had bad rings and blew smoke constantly. It did have 260K miles on it though. lol Still got down the road fine though. lol

Its strange becuase I acutally saw them using this product on Motorhead Garage on the Velocity Channel. I mean my car isnt worn, but using a peventative couldnt hurt right? I always use seafoam every oil change (I drive ALOT)

It could hurt . . . your wallet. lol

Some people get carried away with extreme maintenance and don't realize that the extra maintenance added up over a period of time could be spent on a whole new motor or cooler stuff.

Remember, those shows are "sponsored" and if Xado pays for it, they'll promote it. Doesn't make it right.

Some of those oil additives CAN hurt over the long term. One of the more famous was DuraLube, which contained chlorinated paraffins which can ruin bearings. Short answer: if your motor is in sound mechanical condition, using these additives will do NOTHING for you.

Waste of money. Unless you are trying to correct a specific valve deposit issue, running SeaFoam at every oil change will do nothing.

I saw something like this on an episode yesterday, as soon as I started reading that was my first thought. That show is a bunch of commercials, and the stuff they swear by usually is followed by its commercial, poorly hidden advertisements.

I love watching Gearz but the commercials can wear you down. They do spotlight some really cool products sometimes but they are almost always super pricey. I guess you've got to pay to play.
