Ok, So this is my first post, Hello everybody!

So as the title says i have a broken odometer and trip counter (stuck on 23,000), the car is an 89 5.0 crown vic,

what i wanna know is, does anybody have any advice on trying to fix this myself ?, i just took my wifes monte carlo in for a faulty dash cluster and was hit with an almost $300 bill, so i would like to avoid that again if possible.

can anybody point me in the right direction of removing the dash and diagnosing the issue ?

thank you

Not sure if these would be the right gears for an '89, but I bookmarked this link for my '91:

http://www.odometergears.com/index.php

I still have not gotten around to fixing mine, so I can't tell you how good these are.

Forgot to add, maybe the "broken odometer" info ought to be in the "sticky" at the top...
