OK cool, thanks for the advice! Please believe there will be plenty more questions as i plan and decide what i'm really gonna do on this whole swap thing. I'm personally trying to find a wrecked cobra or motor trans pullout. Been pricing them around $8k at the bottom end so it would be nice if i could get one for $6k (motor/trans/harnesses/DS/etc...) so that maybe i could keep the whole build closer to $10k.

Beautiful. Just absolutely gorgeous. If I can ask...how much did the whole shebang cost? I'm considering long-term storing my 2007 for a project vehicle, but I'm years away from having the cash to do so.

Would you mind taking some more pics of the heat exchanger mounting? Specifically the one behind the grill? I'm getting ready to mount mine soon, and could use some inspiration. Thanks.

Does having two heat exchangers necessitate having two pumps?

I'll try to grab some more picture for you before the weekend is up. The one behind the grill is mounted with some welded together metal stock, it's fairly basic.

Nope! My little reservoir has an outlet right near the bottom and that flows directly into my pump which then pumps into the first exchanger, then into the intercooler, then into the second heat exchanger, and then back into the reservoir. I haven't had any problems with the setup so far but i've only been running it for about 4 weeks. It doesn't seem like the pump is having that hard of a time pumping so it should be fine.

Nice build! I see Im not the only one to feel the pain of a
swap like this lol.

1. 1 pump only.

2. Put fans on the heat exchanger grille area.

3.Plumb something over that air filter, like an aluminum box to
keep out engine heat soak.Failure to do so will result in the ecm pulling timing, great loss of power.

4.The tranny is like that because there is no tune.

5.If you are using a crown vic computer and not a cobra, it should of never been driven without a tune. The vic's ecm will spike a lean wot sometimes, not knowing what to do,.

Just a few mins is all it took to put dings on my forged pistons and the heads as I test drove it, which brought the need for a full engine rebuild a year later.

6.The rear watts linkage will not tolerate over 500HP ,neither the stock axles ,if you get traction.I have broken both drag racing mine with traction. sponsors on this site sell upgraded units, and I would also reinforce where they mount to the frame/under$200 /frame/exhaust shop.

7.If you upgrade to Kenne Bell later, start saving for a performance tranny. Our stock 4r70w/AODE dont last long about 500HP, maybe a year or two.

8.Keep the stock cams if you do most driving on the streets and highway.
The duration and overlap built in these aftermarket cams, are not boost friendly in low rpms, and the stock cams are perfect till 4500rpm, when the aftermarket cams kicks in.

Not to mention, degreeing these cams are a pain in the rear.
Total waste of money.Instead, get a pulley to pull more power if needed.

9.Stock valve springs are ok, Upgrading mine made about a 36rwhp difference, but I have VERY LARGE CAMSHAFTS and race a lot.

10.Beware of crooked tuning facilities and jealousy. If your car runs ok now, you only need one dyno tune usually.Don't be fooled into buying their parts or service and multiple tunes.
Ask us for a list of reputable tuners.

I havent had any problems yet with a single pump, and I don't really have a need for fans on the heat exchangers right now because my IAT's are staying really low. My stock computer has been tuned to run the new engine, the car has just not been DYNO tuned yet. I have a brand new metco watts link sitting in the box waiting for when I do my rear, and I will reinforce the mounts as well as the control arm mounts when I do the rear. I also plan on doing a t-56 magnum swap so the transmission isn't a huge concern of mine currently

I have brand new front and rear coils and new front struts (rear shocks I installed already) that are waiting to go on the car, and after I get alignment issues, etc, worked out, I will order wheels and tires, and a big brake kit. After I get the car ironed out with all of that stuff, I will worry about the 6 speed swap, and then i'll worry about any additional performance mods.

Thanks for the input.

New wheels and tires!!

She's also lowered, and i'll have to get some good pictures of the car the way she sits right now. I got a set of eaton detroit -1.5" front lowering springs which luckily turned out just fine, and a set of custom made rear coil springs -1.0" from coilsprings.com as per Chris@ADTR.net's suggestion. Front struts are KYB's and the rear shocks right now are new cvpi ones.

2009 mustang gt500 wheels (all four are 18x9.5") and I got a new set of tires up front which are some sumitomo 255/45/18's. Still waiting on the rear tires to come in, I ordered me up some sumitomo 275/40/18's for now, I guess i'll have to get a set of drag radials also. ;-)
