I'm running 4 or 5 year old silicone blades. The crimp came off of one of them and it threatened to fly off. I'm going to use a baby zip tip on it.

Today I put a new set of plugs in the Merc. The old ones had 27k miles on them and the gap had gone over .050. They were put in at .040. They were TR55. So I put new TR6s in gapped at .040. Butt dyno likes them. I'm going to tweak the tune a little to ensure it's as dialed in as possible.

Go with RideTech, for real.

There's lots of reports of the Naake ones needing to be rebuilt frequently.

RideTech uses a Fox Racing shock and gives you a million mile warranty. That's why I went with them!

That's kind of what attracted me to RideTech but hadn't heard anything about the Naakes needing frequent rebuilds. Quite frankly, I enjoy driving my cars way more than wrenching on them. laugh

Finally found another pair of parchment weather strips from a 03 LTC for the CVPI rear doors. The seal is much tighter.

I tried to force one from a 15 Fiesta fit, close but no bueno. So I grabbed one, and a brake booster valve, from an 03 at the yard today and installed them.

Reinstalled the push bumper. Found me a nice GoRhino in the junk yard. And lucky me I didn't have to pull the mounts because my car already had them

Took a weeks vacation this week, so I wanted to get some things done on my car.
Sunday, I tried swapping out my gauge cluster for the 02 I got from the junkyard LSE.
I've seen it mentioned many times that 98-02 are compatible. They are not. Must have changed in 01 as there's a few pins that are different, so I plugged it in anyway and it was all wonky.
That was trying my odometer in the 02 gauges/housing/circuit board, so then I swapped the 02 gauges with my odometer into my housing/circuit board and that seems to be happy again.
Had to reuse the black bezel from my 99 due to some differences in the lighting pockets, so the slot where my PRND21 needle was is open and lets in a little light from below.
Took the car for a quick spin and the GPS was reading about 2-3 mph slower than my speedo.

Yesterday, I finally got around to installing my tach. Getting the wiring ran perfect always takes me longer than I want it to, but I am very happy with how it turned out. Had to sand a bunch off the face of the upper column shroud so the gauge pod wouldn't rub on the back of the steering wheel. The illumination is a little dimmer than I'd like, but that's better than being too bright.

I whittled a plug to fit into the key release button that I'll install soon.

I picked up the tach from Advanced Auto Parts when they did one of their $50 off $125 order.
It's an Autometer 1497 and I used their tach adapter as well. Also the Autometer gauge pod 15011.

Just curious if you don't mind me asking, what did you score it for? I have yet to see one around here at a junkyard.

Does anybody know where to get a rear backing plate for a 2007 Ford Crown Victoria LX? I need one as mine rotted out on the right rear and needs to be replaced as well when my e-brake seized but local Ford dealer doesn't have one... nobody.
