Pandora's box has been opened.

Almost 2 years ago I set off on a mission. Swap in 4V Terminator heads with a M122 supercharger. For those not "in the know", the M122 is the Eaton supercharger from the 5.4L GT500 Mustang. It brings about a lot of advantages over the M112, including, but not limited to: Gen 5 rotors, updated bearings, overall more efficient design, driver's side intake and DBW friendly. The sheer involvement, severity and cost of this project has caused it to take a lot of time (No duh!) Seeing as this is totally uncharted territory on a panther, an astonishing amount of R&D had to be employed to make this happen- but after almost 2 years, the stock 2V motor has been pulled, Cobra heads are getting bolted on followed by the M122 supercharger. I welcome a challenge, and having pioneered a lot of "firsts" in the panther world, I welcomed this project with wide open arms.

I have talked to a few people about my direction, but as a whole, I have kept it relatively quiet. I have dropped hints here and there, but I doubt anyone thinks I was serious or picked up on them LOL.

The nitty gritty:

I am going to use my stock block for now and underdrive the blower for a low boost setup of about 8 lbs to hit around 415+/- RWHP. Due to the gen 5 rotor design, improved bearings of the M122 and the fact that this particular one is PORTED and INTERNALLY POLISHED (something the seller didnt say, LOL) i have to underdrive this beast a LOT to not blow my block to smithereens. (I knew it was polished on the outside, just not inside as well; or ported for that matter!) A 3.65" upper and a Metco stock lower will be used for now. I am saving for a fully built MMR 5.3L stroker block, but that's gonna take awhile until I can get it.

Heads are 2004 9-thread Terminator heads W/ stock cams for now. Will probably go B cams after I get a forged lower. TB is a Dragon. GT500 ram air intake. SW ceramic coated 4V headers. 3" dual exhaust. Fully ported Terminator lower manifold/intercooler assy W/ Fluidyne heat exchanger. All these parts have been secured already and are waiting on install. Everything down to gaskets for the heads/4V timing cover/4V valve covers, ect.

This setup will be able to produce over 600 RWHP once the correct shortblock is secured. 415 for now is more then enough for a stock shortblock. This blower is fully capable of about 20 LBS of boost.

I will update this thread periodically as the build progresses. deadline is April 10th of this year. smile

Talk is cheap. Here is pics.

Got a few parts for this swap lol. This isn't even all of them.

The M122 supercharger in question.

Lower porting

Internal porting/polishing

Some rando 4V ceramic coated headers. Thanks Chris/ADTR!

M122 main adapter plate, 4V Eaton conversion brackets and Marauder custom coolant crossover tubes

Timing cover, ram air, 4V COPs and intercooler/lower intake

ported and polished lower intake

I am following this thread like my life depends on it.

I've thinking about swapping some 4v c heads on my car. Op I hope you won't mind if I ask you some questions about the heads installing process.
Also, why would you go with B heads when C heads flow better and they have less issues.

No probs, man. Ask away!

Also, I do have C heads. I will be going to B head cams once I up the boost down the road. The B cams have a longer duration then C cams. Its almost like a stage 1 can upgrade minus the 1200$ pricetag. Its a common upgrade in the Terminator crowd.

I know there was an m122 thread floating around on mm.net, but it has been dormant for awhile. Not sure whatever came from it.

Honestly, I am surprised no one else has tried this already. I knew when I started this 18 months ago no one else had tried, but I for sure thought by the time I was nearing completion- someone else would have already done it.

Got some more gaskets last Saturday, and more hardware is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Hopefully the heads get bolted on the block as early as this Saturday.

Blower came back from the machine shop today.

The mounting superstructure had to be brought down about 2MM as well as modifying some of the mounting feet and modifying the bolt holes. Also, the 2 vacuum lines coming off the elbow were omitted, as they are no longer needed anymore (replaced with an allen bolt for a clean look)

Lastly, the extended pulley hub was installed that has the Billetflow adapter built into it. New oil was put in it and it is ready to rock and roll!
