Been wanting to upgrade my interior and exterior lights with leds.

New to the cv platform, and was wondering do I need the lights for canbus?
Some sites mention differences in the plugs, forgot how they refer to them, but has to do with the orientation of the positive and negative wires in the plug itself, mind spreading some light on this? lol

Also I have a 2011 cv what kind of resistor is needed?

LEDS are polarity specific, if it doesn't work rotate the bulb and it should.

Interior bulbs should be plug and play if you get decent higher quality ones. Stay away from cheap junk.

As for exterior, resistors will be needed for turn signals, etc. I left those alone in mine, but did interior leds.

I think I'll start with the interior first and get some brighter reverse lights for now.
I just dont want to buy the wrong set, hate to have to ship it back.

Thinking about buying from superbrightleds.com.
Anybody have a reason not to?

Pretty sure there was a writeup in the body of knowledge from drock96marquis. Because the LCM in these cars has the flasher built into it, ill look later when im home if no one finds it first.

Pretty sure you gotta cut a wire at the lcm and then wire up an electronic flasher i think. I thought resistors by themselves didnt help on panthers

In an old car I used some flat 48 LED panels that came with the proper connector to fit the contacts for the fuse-looking DE3022 bulb. I cut off one connector and soldered the wiring for a second panel (though I suck at soldering so later just mashed it in and let friction hold it).

The panels were simply amazingly good for brightening up the dim interior.

On my Merc I have the long overhead console and floor lights so haven't considered a need for brighter, but otherwise I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Here's what they look like with connector visible on bottom right:

I've upgraded every exterior light and interior light on my car with LEDS. In fact I'm pretty sure the only one I haven't swapped is the little glove box one.

Vehicle is a 2011 Police interceptor. I have an additional dome light and different taillights. Civilian taillights are setup differently and may have more bulbs but they all should be 3157 (turn signal may be different I'm unsure?). Also I think my HVAC is different then the civilian cv.

My rear lights are honestly kind of obnoxious. They're super bright and definetly get the attention of people behind me to tell them I'm stopping or reversing however after driving behind me for awhile it's annoying and too bright, then again I don't care what people think, maybe stop riding my ass if they bother you Lol.

Parking lights

Turn signal

Front turn signals (2x 3157 white-amber switchbacks)
Front side markers (2x 194)

Rear brake lights (4x 3157 red)
License plate light (1x 194)

Reverse lights (2x 3156 white)

3rd brake light (2x 194 white)
I have white LEDs in there because I had extras laying around but I'm going to be grabbing some red ones soon. It looks orange through my tint

HVAC (2x 194 white)

Map/dome lights

Map lights on

Map lights, dome lights, and foot well lights on

Dome light (1x 194 white)
Map lights (2x 194 white)

46 LED dome light (which is blinding at night when your eyes are adjusted to the dark, I may put some tint on it to tone it down) replaced the white/red ticket light

Trunk light (1x 194 white)

I'm also running 6 blue LED strips, 2 under the dash, 2 under the front seats, and 2 under the side lip of the trunk.

Resistor wise, the only LEDS on the car that need them are the two front turn signals and all 4 rear brake /turn lights (on a civilian cv it would only be whatever bulbs flash for the turn signals, but in my case on the PI it's both bulbs on each side.)

I used 6 50w 6ohm resistors, one per bulb.

I found out the hard way that the rear ones heat up quick and stay hot due to the fact they heat up whenever I brake or turn, not just when I turn like the fronts, I originally 3m taped them out of the way but I found out just the other day when one LED stopped working that they melted through the 3m tape and actually melted the rear side of my housings, letting water in. So I grabbed a bunch of self taping screws and secured them properly, just make sure they clear the taillight (towards the inside of the car and down from the hole on the body for the harness gives you enough room) and any wiring, and that they're on the OUTSIDE not the inside. Id rather melt a wire or a taillight housing then set fire to my trunk liner... lol

For the sake of the people behind you in traffic, might want to tint your tailights very slightly. But everything else looks great!

Id hate to be behind you lol but like Chaplain said I agree on tinting the tails a bit, looks good tho. I like what you did to your ticket light, but why go blue in your footwells, if none of your other lighting is blue?

The lights and theme on my head unit is blue. And I just really like blue. Lol.

Here's the rear footwells

Trust me if I knew how to change the green dash lights to blue I would. Pretty sure I have to scrape off the film from the rear and that's scary

Rbkienzler All looks good.

I just got my leds in the mail today, look forward to installing them.

Where did you buy the resistors and lights at?
Also where did you get that center console? Looks like the arm rest sits higher than the one I have.
