I want to thank Marty for setting me up with my X4 Tuner and custom tune for my 03 Crown Vic. It's making more power , especially in the upper rpm's and the transmission feels sharp and crisp. He listens to what you are trying to achieve and also very good in replying to messages and e-mails.
Thanks Tom

At what modification point is a custom tune beneficial? Im not going for super speed, just a good balance performance and efficiency.

I also agree. Once you drive with a custom tune it's not about making you the fastest but being able to appreciate all the hidden performance that a custom tuner Eg. Mo's Speed can do for your vehicle. You tell the tuner what you are trying to achieve and thru a set of questions and personal dialog your Vic can be dialed in real nice. Response from the throttle, trans up/down shift patterns in addition to the extra power that you will get are just some of the things you'll notice. Ask other members they will tell that after driving a tuned Vic that there is no way that they would ever drive one without a tune.
Good Luck and if you have specific questions just ask.

Wow, thats does sound great. Im honestly very new to even the idea of them outside of what Ive learned watching Youtube videos about how they are used on high performance applications. Now this is a service, not like a plug in unit? Or is this a customized plug in unit? What kind of price would I be looking at?

I got one a few months ago on my 01 GMQ LSE...I had one from someone else and what a big difference between the two... Then I needed a re tune from adding a bigger MAF and T/B.... Real easy shop to deal with...

Who else is making good tunes these days? My tune was from BOC but I hear that is not such a good choice these days. Going to need to update the tune when I get cams.

My first tune was by MPT and to say it was an awful experience, car wouldn't even do a burn out, afterwords I went to moes and delt with jeff, first tune from them if I held the brakesame and floored the car would pick sideways hard as hell and roast the tires, since then been going back and for getting the tuned dialed in for the 1/8th mile, and the minimal driving I do on the street and damn if they didn't wake this car up in ways I never new possible.

He supplies the tune and the device to transfer it into (and out of) your PCM...just plug it into the OBD-II port and follow the directions on the screen. He can supply multiple tunes on the same hand-held...for instance you might want a "normal" tune for 87-octane gas (still way better than stock) and a performance tune for the strip or for 93 octane gas.
