well things aren't going well so far. struts and shocks arrived. one of the MONROE 553001 struts is completely shot out of the box. I thought something was odd when I compressed it totally down with one hand and it sat there. 2nd one I had to actually force it down and it came back out. the shot one is coming back out now but its totally shot compared to the other.
Well, that really sucks. Hope they take care of it.

Lol... yeah I drove right to Pepboys, they dont stock them its special order. cant return it because I will lose my $25 off. she tells me another store has one order it online and they can ship it to a store. Im like sure ok. I call customer service, yeah one of these is shot. oh im sorry we will send u a return label. um no u wont u will send me a replacement im not losing my $25! HOLD ON! 5 minutes later, ok I will send you a return label. um no u r not! well I show we dont stock this strut anymore so that is all I can do! I'm like yeah I dont believe that, type in the part number strut comes up and I can order one. but only ship to store is allowed none online anymore. so I had to do that. hopefully I get it sheesh. These struts seem to be hard to find! the amazon one only had 1 in stock.

pepboys is horrible. their online customer support is horrible same with in store. So anyway I got another strut shipped to the store. that one is not shot. I noticed the one I got thru the mail was previously opened so someone else returned it and they resent it to me. that wont happen again since I wrote defective all over the box. So I went thru the return process and its estimating to refund me $53 even though I paid $78. very annoying. complained to customer service. they told me its an estimate and will be corrected when they get it. So I said you mean when someone who is clueless declares its not defective because it looks shiny and new? Of course pepboys today changed the savings to 30% off up from 25%. I would love to get that $20 more back from all 4 shocks but no way I am dealing with Pepboys anymore lol. I'll probably put these struts on Friday. depending how busy my friend is.

Grrr. Now I am not sure the front right strut is actually bad. If the left rear of the car is raised higher and the left rear is lower b y .5inches, doesnt that force the front right down like I observed? When I checked it that day this was how the rear suspension was and I could not get the front right to move as it was down all the way. Today the rear is more closer to level and I was able to bounce the front right, well compress and release, its very stiff both sides are stiff which is normal for this car. I don't care I bought new stuff they have to be end of life anyway. but this is confusing me.

It's a bid harder to tell with the newer strut cars, but I bet they're gone.

Yeah how do you tell? My car handles pretty good in turns. there is no bounce over bumps. I do not slow down to a crawl for parking lot bumps there is no suspension dip up and over them. U shove any corner down and it fights u and comes back up. Its raining here so my friend didnt want to pull his shiny pristine vette out of the bay so I could use the lift. So prob do them tomorrow. if its not raining. Grrr. Now I am not sure the front right strut is actually bad.
