Back in June 2010, Rizzo started the traveling 13mm socket thread which became legendary.

CVPI_GT later sent his license plate on a journey.

Then, in April 2017, JeffBoudah ran off a batch of CVN bottle openers and somehow I ended up receiving two. I was wondering what to do with the extra, and offered it up to any interested parties, but there were no takers. At that point, BigMerc96 suggested another 'around the world' thread, and I figured that was a cool enough idea to make happen.

So. It's happening.

I have attached a key and the original dealer tag for Slow White, the '04 MGM I totaled in 2012, since I have no use for either. I will also include a tag to sign/date as the bottle opener travels around the world.

Recipients need to take at least one picture with a bottle of beer/soda that they opened, and send it along to a new member. No spoilers - we shouldn't know who the next recipient is until they make their post in this thread!

If you want in, you can express interest in the thread itself, but please allow the receipient to pick who they want to send it to; they will PM you for your address.

Anyway, I took this last night at band practice down in Cleveland:

Click to reveal...
Yes, I opened a twist-off with a bottle opener.

It's going in the mail as soon as I get off work.

Let's get this thing around the world!

So far, the bottle opener has visited:

Are you gonna keep a list of states/countries where it's been so we can try to get them all?

I wasn't expecting completion; just figured it'd be cool to at least get it over to MGDriver at some point, y'know?

We can keep a tally here, I s'pose. I'll edit the original post to indicate something along those lines.

I'm only 30 or so miles away from a_d_a_m so it doesn't make much sense for me to play frown ...

Agreed. It needs to go wherever it pleases.

I had him in mind too, hopefully he checks in.
I'm down for participation too.

It's in the capable hands of the Fairport Harbor Post Office and should arrive at its next destination on Monday.

Now wait a minute, is this documenting where it's going or just where the recipients live? Because I have a lot of ideas and none of them involve Tonawanda New York.

Or is this just going to be open something with it and send it on, not take a bunch of cool pictures with it like Mr. Socket?

Either way I need to go to Canada and get some more A & W now. laugh

I don't remember ever seeing Schlitz in a bottle. Cans yes. On tap yes. Bottle never. Interesting.

When you have the bottle opener, you do you.
