Just replace it all with coils and new shocks. I just did yesterday. Although I used springs that lowered it the ride really hasn't degraded. Which brand coils and shocks did you use?

I'm not a fan of coil conversions. That is not to say I haven't done them, but the air suspension setup is just better in several ways. If you do convert it to coils, please, do not just chop up the lines and wiring like whoever converted my Town Car did, made putting the air ride back in it more of an journey than it should have been. Whenever I do them, I simply unplug things and disconnect the lines and zip tie them up out of the way, takes maybe an extra 10 minutes, but would save a ton of time if you ever decide to put it back.
My preference is to use OEM springs from a coil sprung car. The ones that come with the "conversion kits" are too $$ and the 2 I've experienced have been too harsh. Before I put the air ride back in my Town Car, I swapped out the coil conversion springs for a set of factory coils from a CV, those rode 100x better, tho they did sag with the extra weight of a Town Car so it sat a bit low.

My opinion: If you really want the minimum-cost solution, coils will get you there. If you ever plan to do anything like put lots of heavy stuff in the trunk or tow, fix the air suspension.
I got rid of a GS and replaced it with an LS HPP because I wanted the stiffer suspension and RAS. Wouldn't ever go back.

If anyone knows a skilled forum member, within 200 miles of Cleveland, who is willing to do the conversion for me, please let me know. I would be happy to pay for this favor.
I have a severe problem with my shoulder so I can't do this work myself. Further, i just don't have the knowledge or skills.

The sixth mechanic I contacted, after five refusals, took the job. Going forward with the conversion, could not deal with the unreliability of the air suspension.

Just seeing this now...sorry you're having issues again. System looked really good from what I could tell, so I have to believe it's a fixable thing. But hey, do what ya feel and switch to coils if you want.

My situation has also changed a bit and I had no choice since several mechanics refused to troubleshoot the air suspension.

Wanted to share my experience with the conversion. Is there a difference? Yes there is. Air suspension was better than coil and springs. I would guesstimate that the difference is about 15%. I am okay with the loss of air suspension but in my case, I gained reliability.
One silly question, I want to check the coolant in my 2009 MGM, where is the radiator coolant tank located?

This system is easy to fix.
Go to Arnot for the parts. I would get a pair of air springs, the solenoids should be replaced as PM as well. Your compressor is also bad from having been overworked. Get that as well. Replacement of air ride springs is very easy. Also the air compressor lives under the air filter box. Remove the air tube and air box to get to the compressor underneath. your biggest issue would be corroded bolts. you may need to cut out the old rusted bolts and replace with new. make sure you get an air drier with the compressor. There are writeups here on this site that have step by step instructions. with a couple of jacks, hand tools, and some patience one can do this job easily.

He hasn't logged in since making his last post and already converted. I doubt he'll be back, or change back to air.
