When my 93 sh*t the bed, I needed a new car fast and cheep. Luckily, I came across this beauty on craigslist. Me and my friends loaded up in my friend's 04 P71 and drove an hour to go take a look at it. The owner at the time was an old Navy veteran, named Lou. He showed my around this Car, sparing no detail, and offering me and my friend to take it for a test drive. Lou explained to us that he was only the 2nd owner, and that the car has been in town it's whole life. He had the paperwork to prove it too. He had too many cars, and did not have time for it anymore. I was able to pick it up for just under $600.

First thing I did was check out the check engine light. One spray of MAF cleaner later and I was good to go. I then tackled the hazed headlights and peeling chrome. I wetsanded the headlight housings and used stick on tint to give them a newer look. I then painted the chrome trim around all the lights and grille body color.

Next up was the horrible wheel bearings. I already had parts I was saving up for my 93 to do the 98+ front brake swap so I went ahead and used them. This meant I needed some bigger wheels for the bigger brakes. Instead of using my cragars or cop wheels, I hopped on craigslist again and in the very same town I bought the car from, I found a set of 16" Ranger 4x4 wheels. $20 and 2 hours later they were mine.

So now I started digging into my parts stash and doing some upgrades to this thing. On the Interior I added 03 cupholders and headrests, and an Explorer HVAC panel.

On the outside I added a set of 98+ P71 Mirrors, and My brother gave me a set of LED headlights for Christmas!

Winter has slowed me down as far as working on this car, but once the weather gets warmer things will hopefully pick up. It is by no means a perfect car, but it has been serving me well so far!

Yep, plug and play for 95-97. Heated work as well, no mods required.

They have the same plug. Only think that changed was the polarity of the heater element, the positive and negative pins are reversed on the plug even tho it is the same plug. I was looking to do this swap on my '96. Just be aware that if your car does not already have heated mirrors, it probably isn't wired for them so you'll have to tap into the defroster circuit and run the wires. That is one of the many small projects planned for my '98, no '98-'01 CV/GMQ had heated mirrors, they didn't become an option again till '02.

1997 models lack heated mirrors as well.

So nice to see another aero being taken care of. I also didn't know about the heated mirrors. I learn so much but forget most of it.
