Does anyone have any recommendations for a good shop to do a rebuild?

Transmissions by Bruce in Parma did a good job on my AOD. Guy's Ford-trained, or claims to be. Hard to get hold of in the mornings, as he also does towing.

I was dissatisfied with a Blazer transmission I had rebuilt at Action Auto in Painesville. Also dissatisfied with Powerline in Mentor with a TR3650 rebuild that went haywire and resulted in me buying a new one outright. So I cannot recommend those shops. (I chose my words quite carefully on both of them as this is a public review)

The one shop I used to use with great luck - Northern Ohio Auto Transmission in Mentor - has permanently closed.

If the car will make it, take it to 88grandmarq. Dude is top notch.

I should clarify that I can rebuild the transmission, but I have no room or tools to remove the transmission from the car at my current location. but I can rebuild the transmission once its out of the car. I am happy to meet you some place to pick up and deliver, once the rebuild it complete.

Yep, trans is delivered and installed in the car. I hear it shifts correctly smile

Old core is already apart as well and as suspected the forward clutch is cooked, everything else looks in tip top shape.
