I have been accidentally invading other's posts and going back and forth between here and GrandMarq.net. I cannot find or figure out where I have posted so I will make this thread for my progress and much needed assistance from the forum. Thanks everyone!

The car is a 2000 Grand Marquis. I am looking to go 12.9xx with nitrous and bolt ons. I dont care about fuel mileage and the car is not a daily driver. I have never worked on or built one of these so everything is absolutely new to me. I have numerous bolt on parts bought but not installed. Car is sitting with no transmission. The Monster brand trans with 2500 stall was ordered a few weeks ago. Should be here next Friday. Next will be the 4.10 gears, aluminum shaft with spacer and spool with the tune. I have a throttle intake, MZT, injectors, fuel pump and other stuff but might not install that until the nitrous is ready to go on. Will also be looking at weight reductions and some body work.

The P.I. heads I have are from a 2006 Crownvic but to get them cheap from the you-pull-it yard, I had to take off the cam and cam gears and stuff so they are basically worthless now. I also got a PI intake from a grand marquis and was only looking at the port holes and come to find out it is a Dorman. Need to replace that.

That is about where I am now. Thanks to all that reply and assist.

If you're wanting to run 12s you may want to consider (at the very least) some rear control arms.......

Thank you forthe insight on suspension. Going to do the ADTR set when the time come.

As far as the nitrous, I have a 340 lph aeromotive pump already and just need the injectors (dont HAVE to have them but doing so for peace of mind) also the msd coils for the same reason. I am going to do a progressive controller that hits a 75 and rolls into 150 with in probably a second or second and a half. Dont want to jab my old motor with 150 shot. doing a wet shot for better tuning control. I also went with the 78mm throttle intake over a 75mm throttle body and plenum port. That is about it for now. My converter is either 2500 or 2800 so may have a 3200 cut on for the spray. should rev up pretty quick (I hope) going with 4.10s and a smaller than stock tire 275/40r17 rear so I may do 2800 cut on or just full throttle.. what ever Marty says to do. I just want to play it as safe as possible with the mileage I have to get SOME enjoyment out of it before needing a bottom end.

I do have a question if anyone can help. Should I get new flexplate bolts for any reason? or flexplate? since the trans is already out I am thinking about doing the rear main seal and the plate has to come off any way.. thoughts?
