Well, I did the deal yesterday on the '04 LX's replacement. 2010 P7B Former Wixom (MI) PD unit 103k Mods so far: Addco front sway bar, Focus foglights, NTF auxiliary oil filter (installed by the PD), side-mount trunk organizers (first time I've ever seen these and I really like them), LED trunk illumination, LED reverse lights, Forscan-activated keyfob, Forscan-activated light flash upon door closure, Explorer center console, Kenwood BT stereo with subwoofer in the trunk. Best of all: no major rust - and the undercarriage is shockingly clean. I'll get pics of that sometime soon. My first chore was to remove the "See You Space Cowboy" decal on the rear fascia. Aside from that, I've gassed it, spiffed the interior up a bit, and put some Rain-X on it. Also ordered a 2" hitch receiver for it so I can mount my bike rack. Doubt I'll do any trailering with this, since the '91 LTD has the 2" receiver, wiring for lights, and a trailer brake controller already installed. More to come. I haven't really had a chance to do much to the car.

That's nice but what are you going to drive in the winter? It. Not that it matters but yellow flex fuel badge? my 09 has a road/leaf green one. It's a GM badge. And whats that box by the spare? Subwoofer.

I like it. Though I still think you need an Aero in your life. I'd looked at, and passed on several. I had no desire to deal with rust. The 2010, while not perfect, is clean.

The trunk storage boxes, usually called evidence boxes, were a factory option for all ears, though they aren't very common. Although it appears that he has two passenger side boxes... The driver side box from factory is smaller, to clear the inertia switch.

Those polycarbonate boxes are nice - you can store tools in there and see all what is in there since they are clear.

I've never seen them on CVN and I too cannot find any in any online marketplace. I'm super stoked to have them.
I need to do some illumination work on the car. The left side reverse light is out, which is no big deal. But slightly more annoying: the Focus fogs were flickering on me on the way to work last night. I smacked the switch and they came back on without issue. Guessing it's just the switch, then, but that needs to be addressed now-ish.

Today, I started taking the wiper motor and cowl out of the '04 LX, planning to swap it into the '10 P7B (this was briefly discussed here before I bought the car). Predictably, much like the rest of the LX, I found the wiper motor to be in crappy and corroded shape. I didn't feel very good about proceeding with swapping it into the 2010, which is not crappy nor corroded. So, now I've got two Vics without functioning wipers, because I sure as [censored] wasn't about to go to the trouble of re-installing the wiper motor on the '04 today. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow. In the meantime, I've ordered a new motor. Then again, it might just be the transmission/linkage since I can hear some sort of attempt at movement from the cowl area when I turn the wipers on. Who knows.

Since you'll run it in the winter you should fluid film it! Again, nice ride Adam!

it appears that he has two passenger side boxes... The driver side box from factory is smaller, to clear the inertia switch. Mine has an indent and therefore clears the inertia switch, and the lid for the driver's side box has a decal advising of the switch's function... Since you'll run it in the winter you should fluid film it! That's the plan. Though, it's honestly clean enough that I could undercoat the whole thing and probably get away with it. Decisions, decisions.

The new wiper motor doesn’t work on high. Everything else works. I never use high, so no big deal, but I might go ahead and try to re-spline the OE motor so I have it around when this reman unit inevitably fails.

One more question about those boxes. I found a drivers side box, the narrow tall one. Can anyone tell me or maybe Adam, how the hell this ting mounts? I got it second hand and it came just as the box.

The poverty is real. These snow tires make the car look and drive like the vomit comet it is. I really would like some '06+ civvy bench seats for this thing, but then that = also installing carpet...and I don't want to gussy this thing up that much, do I?

That's one of the things I hate about living in Ohio. Snow tires for half the year. I've somehow justified it by telling myself that I don't have to go to the tire store as often. Your 2010 P7B looks to be in excellent condition Adam! Looks good Black! For a vomit comet, it isn't bad. It has a TON of swirl that goes away with a quick Turtle Wax, but it really needs correction...and a new driver's fender.

Except it only works that way if you're willing to drive around on age-cracked hockey pucks for 5 years. Damn things will rot before they wear out. I should get some 100-treadwear autocross tires, they'd still be good for 4 years.

I've apparently forgotten to keep this thread updated. No major changes to the car, aside from new tinted head/corner lamp housings. I have a front/rear LX Sport interior (seats, anyway) that could go in this thing, but I really still want a bench. I also have an LX Sport grille that I'm working on painting. It came to me in silver, and I've been trying to get the gloss black to lay down nicely. I'm sort of toeing the line between caring about this car and not caring about it. Sure, a bench seat and LX Sport grille will look nice in this thing if I get around to install them, but I also miss the 'IDGAF' nature of my old '04 CVLX which got less than basic maintenance. Feeling guilty about driving this car in the snow is sort of...annoying.

Thanks!
Regarding the grille, Idunno, I really think the gloss has to match to give it a more sleek look.

That car is a keeper man Thanks! I like it, too...and I'll like it more once I dial the interior in. I've got no plans to sell it unless someone wants to offer me stupid money, at which point I'd gladly let it go. Then, I'd be on the hunt for something like this car I posted in the CL/Ebay thread (though NOT in that color).
