I repaired this plug 2-3 years ago. I didnt use a helicoil or timesert. I used one of the thread savers that you flare the end so it doesnt drop onto piston. yeah I know im an idiot...
I never did loctite on the threads because I couldnt get the damn thing to thread in by itself, aka I got tired of trying.

So does anyone know if a helicoil is slightly larger than these stupid inserts?
Is there an overage option for dummies with a repaired one blown out again?
You can see the heads threads sitting in the inserts threads grrrr

You will probably need to use a Timesert Bigsert. They are designed to fix botched repair jobs. It's an expensive kit, but it works.

yeah I was looking at that but its confusing.
They say the kit has bigsert abilities, but the inserts look all the normal size ones.
so I dont see anywhere about the bigsert inserts

I guess i'll ask them

Call them and ask to be sure you get the right kit. It really does work. I had to use the kit on my 2000. It was my father in laws kit. Hopefully I don't need it again since I am no longer with his daughter, LOL.
