Hi everyone, great site. Long time follower, first time poster.

1993 Ford Crown Victoria P71. 135k

Need help identifying cause of red fluid leak. Its leaking the same type of red fluid at the front edge of transmission bell housing and also just to the front/pass side and above the trans fluid pan . Its leaking after car is off and cooled down. The longer it sits, the more it leaks.

Took it to transmission shop where they replaced the trans fluid pan gasket. No improvement. They also replaced the rear main engine seal and still same exact leak.

Car runs great and I would like to keep it that way without any leaks. Car spent most of its life in CA. Any ideas what this could be?

Here is link to pics and video of the leak:

Thanks in advance!

If its red, then its transmission fluid. Leaking that far forward, it can only be from one of 2 places, the drain plug on the torque converter, or the front pump/torque converter seal. If they did a rear main, they should have done the front pump seal since, well, you're already doing 95% of the work. There is a 3rd possibility of it coming from the trans cooler lines, but they look really clean in those pictures so I kinda doubt it unless they're leaking at the fittings on the trans.

It could be power steering fluid as well even if a 93 doesn't call for it. There's still a good chance someone had used it and being a p71 it should have a power steering cooler and lines as well. My 2008 p71 the ps cooler is in front of the radiator.

Passenger side would be either the dipstick tube or cooler line fittings, both have o-rings
