Had the intake manifold done twice to this car now. I noticed the aluminum crossover is missing a couple bolts? Should I throw some in there or could there be a reason my mechanic left them out?

Are you sure they are missing, is there a place to thread them in the crossover, or are they holes for the thermostat neck bolts? Would love to see a picture or which ones are missing, I have a lot of images of dissected intakes, OEM and aftermarket, maybe some that show the bolts, will have to see.

This is an nPI Dorman but I am pretty sure the crossover is the same even for an OEM PI intake:
passenger side:

drivers side (only one bolt in mine and if I remember that makes sense with the mounting bolts/thermostat housing bolts):

Guess that won't show.

Maybe this will.

The bolts come up from the bottom, so the heads are under it. You should be able to see the heads from the side or if there is the end of the bolt.

I see, thank you! That puts me much more at ease. The guy I had put it in always does great work, but I've never done an intake and that was really puzzling to me haha.

OK, I see your pic after I opened it, looks like you're just seeing the unused portion of the tapped holes, if there is a bolt in them, it comes from underneath … and try poking a small wire in them two holes, should hit the bolt's end … if you can't see the ends.
