Hey yall, first post here and I'm in need of some help. I've got a 2008 CVPI and a few days ago it was idling horribly and then stalled once put into gear. Since then it hasn't started. It'll crank and it sounds like it wants to start but no dice.
Things that I've tried:
Swapped fuel pump relay for known good one
Checked for engine codes (none)
Checked for spark
Plugs looked good
Tried removing intake and spraying starter fluid into intake
Power is getting to the injectors
Checked pump switch in trunk
I'm really stumped at this point. I have some images and videos that I'll post later on. Any help would appreciated.

I'd check the fuel pressure at the rail and verify you've got something there.

Otherwise, maybe a failed crankshaft position sensor might be giving some grief. It's possible it hasn't set a code.

I agree with BellWestern. Since it was at least idling poorly to now not starting it almost sounds like it was struggling for fuel and now it can't get any. If the pressure is low it could be bad pump, clogged filter or clogged line. Or some power issue to the pump.

If you have spark the crank sensor isn't the issue. Also, it's good that the injectors have power, but is the ECU actually pulsing them on/off? You can use a noid light while cranking to check for this. The light should flash as the engine is cranked. If you've got spark and injector pulse it's definitely not a crank sensor.

Yall I feel really dumb. It was out of gas. I thought it was full but the fuel gauge is misreading/jumping around worse than i thought. I'm happy it isn't the pump but I guess my next move is to replace the fuel sending unit.
Thank yall for the help, I'm just slow.

This is always my first thought, but I never mention it because people will often explode if you even suggest the possibility...

Still, glad it was an easy fix!

Wheezy, how many miles are on the car? If you're gonna remove the fuel pump assembly to get to the sender, might as well replace the whole thing and not get surprised later.

It currently has 167k on it. I'll probably hold off on it until I get the entire assembly, it's just a tough pill to swallow while still trying to save for other needed parts.
