Cut springs = rough ride.
KYB = garbage.
That's just my experience though.

Back on thread topic... topped up coolant today, hadn't had to do so in over a year.

They actually ride surprisingly well with a coil and a half cut. I’d probably be fine if I hadn’t used the GT500 shocks out back as well, can barely depress the rear end by pushing on it. Don’t even think it moves a half inch any more, so I’m sure you could see why oversteering is a much bigger problem now

Figure this one out:

I was driving the P7B home from work last night and the idiot chime started dinging - but quieter than what it would sound like if you left your lights on or you weren't buckled in.

Other than the TPMS light (which has been on since last week whenever I put the snow tires on) there were no dash lights flashing or constant-on. Gas and temp gauge read normal.

My commute home is 9ish miles, mostly interstate, and I was on a highway offramp decelerating when I noticed this. Because I had music on, I cannot say for certain how long it was going off. I initially thought that it was part of the song. By the time I turned the music down, I only heard it for a second or two more.

Internet folks have a range of opinions on this, from an airbag chime, to a dash light out, to just a battery being low. I have to believe we can rule out dash lights, since they all cycle through as normal when the key is turned, and I have to think the airbag can be ruled out since that light never flashed erratically. So, I guess I'm leaning toward a battery getting ready to give up? The car does crank slower than it did when it was warm out, and the battery IS older (and on my to-buy list).

Anyone got anything else?

The car didn't ding at me this morning.

USPS knows that trick, too. They perfected it when I ordered a rare LP from Japan and found it folded in half sticking out of my mail slot. [censored].

Adam, I'm going with low battery.

This, of course, was merely the semi-delirious notion of a fever-patient, but I remember that it struck me at the time as being eminently practical and feasible.

I'm already pricing replacements. Damn if the price doesn't go up a ton every time I look. Swear the last Motorcraft 850CCA I bought was like $120. Looks like I may be going with a NAPA battery this time.

Been there...
Many years ago when Illinois replaced license plates annually (instead of issuing a little postage stamp-sized sticker) the asshole mailman folded my new license plates to stick them in my mailbox. mad

It’s about a 1” drop, the front needs another quarter coil cut I think

Just my personal opinion here... but...
The front wheel fills the wheelwell almost perfectly, but the rear wheel looks a bit too far up in the well...

So... I think the front looks just about right, but the rear looks squatty, and could stand about an inch of body lift...

JMHO

(And lose those stickers... that ain't a Honda...)

Mines' sits with the front wheel just about where you would want it, I achieved this with (dare I say) Eaton 1.5" drop springs, but it 'stink bugged' so I had to obtain 2.5" rear drop springs from Coil Spring Specialties.

I guess this is all academic, because you're [apparently] trying to avoid purchasing springs.

Way I figure it is at this point I need a stiffer shock as well as spring, so it’s gonna be coilover if I buy anything else for my suspension

I've had no problems with lowered springs and (allegedly suspect) KYB Struts.

I went from slight understeer to horrendous oversteer when I lowered. Cut CVPI springs and the KYB struts yo front, but the rear is all stock GT500 stuff. I’m also onsidering going back to the 21mm rear sway back to offset but that just sounds like a bad idea
