Recently I got stuck on a sandy boat ramp due to the open diff in the back of the Crown Victoria. Decided I would upgrade to a limited slip.
On ebay I found some good deals on 2015-2019 mustang carriers for the 8.8 with low miles priced around $120. After doing some research I found that the only difference is the way the axles are held in the spider gears. IRS uses some sort of clip while the SRA uses the normal c clip. But when I look up pictures of the spider gears, where the clips go, for both rear ends they look the same.
My question here is will the C clips from the SRA axles fit in the spider gears of the IRS carrier?
Also: If the mustang IRS diff won't work do any of you have experience with the Yukon Gear Duragrip? I see mixed reviews online but the specs look pretty good.
Thank you for any responses.
