ORIGINAL 2020 POST EDITED...Routes and Dates Announced for HOT ROD Power Tour 2020Summit Motorsports Park and Lucas Oil Raceway have squeaked their dates (see links) for HRPT '21, so although no official word from the Hot Rod folks has occurred, I'm considering that a reasonably reliable announcement. June 6th: Summit Motorsports Park (Norwalk, OH) June 7th: guessing Columbus or Dayton, OHJune 8th: Lucas Oil Raceway (Indianapolis, IN) June 9th: June 10th: June 11th: June 12th: I will update as more dates become available.

I seriously thought about going this year but due to lack of vacation time do to a new job I cannot. I will definately be going to Norwalk as a spectator though as it's only 20 minutes away. I know my cousin and he husband are planning on taking there '70 Nova or '71 Boss 351 for the whole tour.

For whatever reason, I thought you were from Cincy. I see now that your location is North Central Ohio...whoops. Either way, definitely show up as a spectator if you can - it really is an awesome event! Shame it isn't starting on Saturday like it used to; I'd have suggested following the convoy down to Dayton.

Also, I said this last year but it bears repeating to anyone who is hemmin' and hawin' about going for budgetary reasons. These are rough figures, but here's the best I can figure: $130: HRPT multi-day early registration $768: weeks' worth of hotel stays* $380: round-trip gas bill TOTAL: $1278
*We didn't do the whole week, skipping the first two nights in Charlotte and heading home after Norwalk. We averaged $96/night for lodging including all taxes and fees so that's how I got that figure.
Bear in mind, this was split with my dad, so I would've been just over $600 on the debit card for a week of vacation, not counting food/drink/merch/souvenirs. Staying less than a whole week meant I was definitely under $600. Those expenses are sort of subjective and everyone does it differently - you can go out to eat, cook dinner on your engine, pack cold cuts, whatever. But bear in mind, I left with $500 cash and returned with a little over $100 in my wallet. For that $400ish, I was able to sustain myself the entire week, buy a few parts for the Thunderbird, and spend some money at various venues and roadside stops. This year I'm figuring a bit cheaper with a more fuel-efficient vehicle and cheaper hotels: $168.50 - Long Haul registration $80.47 - Norwalk hotel $90.79 - Dayton hotel $87.75 - Indy hotel $71.73 - St. Louis hotel $72.42 - Champaign hotel $84.01 - Davenport hotel $102.79 - Madison hotel $296.00 - gas, estimated*$1054.46 - total, if I went soloNow, splitting the hotel and gas bill with my best friend (I ate the registration fee): $168.50 - Long Haul registration $40.235 $80.47 - Norwalk hotel $45.395 $90.79 - Dayton hotel $43.875 $87.75 - Indy hotel $35.865 $71.73 - St. Louis hotel $36.210 $72.42 - Champaign hotel $42.005 $84.01 - Davenport hotel $51.395 $102.79 - Madison hotel $148.000$296.00 - gas, estimated*$611.48 $1054.46 - my cost / $442.98 - friend's costNot a bad deal for a week of vacation. *1668 miles from my door, round trip, back to my door...a little detour here and there, figure 2000 miles. Worst case, 17.5mpg in the wagon (21hwy easy) = 114.28 gallons of gas estimated @ $2.59/gal.Again, food/drink/souvenir expenses are always subjective and YMMV, so I didn't factor those in.

You forgot the to factor in the beer on those travel expenses. Ahem: Again, food/drink (aka beer)/souvenir expenses are always subjective and YMMV, so I didn't factor those in. Also, I'm unclear why you have two accounts...did you forget the PW to the other one?
