My electronic climate control blows hot or cold on demand. If I select defrost, I get air out of the defrost. If I select floor, I get air out of the floor. The problem is I have air constantly coming out of the vents. If I select vent, the air blows harder out the vents. If I select floor, air comes out the floor and the vents. If I select defrost, air comes out the defrost and vents. This is not good because I do not want heat blowing on my face.

I followed the guide and changed the o-rings. The problem persists.

From what I've read, but not entirely sure, the doors that changes the location of the air flow could be broken/stuck?

Any help getting an accurate diagnosis would be great.

Thanks in advance!

Reading the article you shared above, the symptoms he experienced describe my problem to the T. Thanks for sharing that link, as I did not see it when I looked.

After reading this post and the comments, I wonder if that zip-tie solution worked? My CV is too nice and too low miles not to fix this relatively small issue.

I think that thread needs to be stickied. I'm constantly searching for it every time someone posts about this problem.

Omg what a coincidence, this is just happening to my car. I'm getting tired of fixing stuff that shouldn't be fixed. Oh well I'm gonna go take a look at that thread to see how can I for it.
Thanks for stickying it you made it easy for me lol

Yup,PITA. That's why I went with solid brass hinges to fix my air door.

I am having the EXACT same problem with my 2010 p7b. Just have all the dash vents manually closed unless I want one on. Was worried it was that actuator door thing that requires ripping the whole car apart.
