Looked at the price of carpet and lined up a buyer for the LX Sport console. He’s gonna be buying my shifter handle, boot, and knob too, so it’s a good thing I’ve got a Hurst handle and knob on the way.

Depends upon the particular location.
I think all Home Depot's will rent you a F150 or F250 pickup truck, and most even have flatbeds for drywall and plywood. Many will have an Econoline-type van, too.
Same goes for Menard's.

$129 for 24hrs, unlimited mileage, return it with a full tank.

Cheaper than U-Haul, Enterprise, etc...

Finally got to wash the salt off the MGM. Today was the first day we broke 15 degrees in almost 2 weeks with a fresh layer of snow and salt every couple of days. The self-serve car wash in town is closed below 15. The lower 2/3rd's of the car was pretty much solid white. Also did a drain and fill (u-haul pan) with the trans fluid a few days ago and in another 1000 miles it gets an oil change. Hope it's warmer then.

Finally brought it home! Then I finally installed the new front brakes I bought months ago.

Now we've got even more snow on the way, so I packed up the garage in preparation for that....

Prof, would you mind shooting a picture of your car straight from the front? Ours are very close in appearance, and I'd like to see what the Sport grille looks like on your car. I've got one that I've yet to install. Maybe it will be inspiration for me.

Here ya go. It's actually a tinted chrome. I think I got it off amazon for like 40 bucks or something. I wanted a honeycomb but couldn't find any for a not-ridiculous price. Now this one has grown on me.

Thanks for posting it. It's close enough for me to see what my car might look like, and I like it.

Damn, that Vic looks GOOD! (Honeycomb be damned...)

Personally, I sentimentally prefer the Mercury Grand Marquis, but that Vic is a looker! double thumbs

Thanks! I'm into keeping things subtle if I can. grin

Well, except for the brush guard on the GMC... whistle

There's a lot more I'd like to do to it, but I fear that's a ways down the road now as the house consumes more and more budget.
