Is it worth it to do long tube headers $$$ for the gains?

How much can you realistically see with LT headers and then modifying the tune? My mods are in my sig.

Kooks and Stainless Works and anything else? I am looking bolt in not modification city.

They are expensive and trying to decide if it is worth it now or keep saving for the supercharger kit ADTR sells?

Thanks in advance,
George

Keep saving for the adtr's blower kit.

Long tube headers become a necessity the wilder you go with the engine as far as cams and heads swap but I would say they are overated for what they do on a stock engine. The gain in torque wich is around 15 to 18 lbts is always welcome on such a small displacement engine such as the 4,6 but nothing to compare to what a blower can offer.

Worthwhile if you can find a used set, although you’ll want them with boost

My opinion is that you won't notice headers from a HP standpoint on a N/A car. Had I not needed to fix a leaking exhaust manifold on the Marauder, I wouldn't have gone through the hassle and broken bolts of installing the Stainless Works kit.

Yup. If I were in your position, I would keep saving for the supercharger kit. Unless, of course, you want the sound of an exhaust with headers right now, in which case go nuts

I had a conversation with Chris at ADTR about this very thing. Twice. Wanted to do the headers, the whole exhaust system. He said both times there is an increase. I told him I'm not doing heads, cams, PI intake, just when it comes time to replace the Walker exhaust system I have on now here in CT, is it worth the cost for what ever improvement it brings?

He said yes it is, plus your very long lasting stainless exhaust system is ready to take on down the road any other improvements you want to make. Makes sense to me.

Around 20hp/tq. Not much, and definitely worth it considering the sick ass sound.

I'm currently in the process of installing a set of BBK Headers for the 96-04 Mustang onto my 1999 LTC. Got them and the Off-Road X Pipe for a steal at $200. Main concern right now is trying to get an EGR tube to reach the driver's side port on the headers all the way back to the EGR valve.
