Yup, they do.
Last year I finally replaced the 20-year-old tires on my Mustang... I got Hankook WSW 195/70R14 from Tire Rack for the ol' flip top.

Should I get a set of white wall tires, are you gonna cruise the miracle mile?

Nowadays you can't be too sentimental, your best bet's a true baby blue Continental.

Hot funk, cool punk, even if it's old junk, it's still rock 'n' roll to me.

If anyone wanted WSW tires, you could always go with Vogue tires. Expensive, but they look absolutely awesome

How about a pair of pink sidewinders and a bright orange pair of pants?

We're the same age. My first car was a 69 Javelin. Great car and it had fully relining buckets - great for the submarine races, if you get my drift.

One of my buddies in high school had a Beetle. He referred to the hand straps over the the door as ankle straps...

There's a theme here... teenage angst...hormones ...

In regards to the OP, true.. now a clunker is basically any car that's been neglected and clapped out, age irrelevant. I see plenty 10 year old clunkers in impoverished areas.

... and to that point, newer cars look way more ragged if they get in a fender bender.. probably from the thin plastic and fiberglass the body panels are constructed out of. Has anyone here seen a newer Impala or Malibu that's been side-swiped? It looks like it was chewed up by a Union Pacific freight train.

Like Mater said, "Those old British motors, if there ain't no oil under 'em, there ain't no oil in 'em." lol

Those plastic belly pans do a good job of keeping the driveway clean, at least.

E-code lights w/ relays, LEDs w/ switchbacks, 15x8 Ansen slots w/ 255/60 BFG's, Kenwood stereo, various hacks.
This, of course, was merely the semi-delirious notion of a fever-patient, but I remember that it struck me at the time as being eminently practical and feasible.
