Hey folks long time no see.
Recently picked up a 78 Continental Town Car.
While browsing on Facebook marketplace I came across a 78 Marquis with early 90s Towncar seats in it. The owner said supposedly that the seats fully function.
The main reason I can assume they were put in is for the recline...since the 70s ones didn't have a recline.
I would post pictures of it but I forgot how to post a picture here its been so long.
Anybody know if the seat motor connectors are the same and the seat mounts?

I'd be really surprised if the wiring on the '78s isn't the same, so you should be able to swap them in using whatever bootlegs (if any) were done to get them into the Marquis.

I had a couple of '78 Lincolns (Town Car and Town Coupe) and miss everything but the gas mileage.

I have a 75 with Town Car option, and the optional "pillow top" velore power seats. I think they recline. Son has a 96 town car. Comfortable car, but seats are half as thick and probably half the weigh(less couch like). I heard the 79's lost weigh via materials, not size. I think you might be happier restoring/ upgrading originals. Unsolicited tip. Assuming you have the 460- put in a 68 to 71 speck roller timing chain. Ford retarder cam massive 8 deg post 71. You get more go, and even double digit fuel economy for 50 bucks and a days work. Good luck!

That can't be right. They were probably optional. Congrats on the new acquisition! beer1

See 1978 Marquis brochure page below: Right click, open image to see full size.

Of course the Lincoln Town Car came with the recliner as standard.
