Who is ready for me to saw the roof off, and then turn it into a convertible?

Another colossal flop courtesy of E&G Classics.

Why do they keep plastering that ugly vinyl top on a car and call it a "Classic Limited Edition" and sell it to gullible old people? Hell, I'm old (and a half!) and I don't like those poor, unfortunate bastardized Mercury sedans.

I Googled it, and I could not find any more info on what makes it a "Florida Edition". Is it just the top, or are the other "improvements" that were done to the car?

It got the Interceptor. laugh

Nah, any package like that is purely tacked-on exterior and interior garbage.

The "Florida Edition" is likely just the addition of the tacky vinyl Landau Top, the chrome wheelwell eyebrows, and various ornamentations.
This one's a Grand Marquis LS, so the leather seats were already there; they could supply leather interiors for GS Mercury sedans.

I believe E&G Classics went out of business, though... they were responsible for many (most?) of those vinyl tops seen tacked onto just about every sedan ever made... even the teardrop shaped 96+ Taurus and Sable, Toyota Avalons, all GM B-Bodies, and most other sedans.

Love how they tacked on extra wood trim around the air vents and headlight switch. Real geezer package right there. At least the interior looks like it fared better than the exterior. laugh

I am pretty sure that's a GS and not an LS, I can tell because of the body trim and because of the vinyl steering wheel.

None of those exotic editions are an actual edition nor a trim. They are just a luxury appearance package installed per the dealer so they are not a Ford package at all.

My previous 03 marquis GS had the tiara edition and to be honest I really did enjoyed looking at it, but it sucked that it was all show no go, just a GS with accents missing a lot features. No rear map lights, no auto dimmer mirror, manual air, manual passenger seat, no RAS, it was pretty much missing a lot, but it looked alright, had traction control thought lol.

Get ready for the damage...

Finnance manager's wet dream. They actually pre-ordered this thing.

Also I ended up with some free music.

Dewalt on standby. Taking this thing to the breakers will put it outta its misery. Seller claimed I could drive it 2 hours back from evansville. The flashing OD light and limp mode determined that was a lie.

Look at the last picture... the trunk lid has "LS" on it.

And on the paperwork: "2MEFM74W" is an "LS" Edition.

That said, it's the lower-level "LS Premium"

In 2004, there was an "LS Premium Edition" and then the nicer "LS Ultimate Edition."

Actually an LS has to be M75, I want to believe those letters were just added at some point.

The Tupac CD is a good one.

Probably a GS.. and LS wouldn’t have steel rims, right?
